Good So Far,

This review is from: Timex Women's T5K005 Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Resin Strap Watch (Watch)
So far this watch has worked out well for me. Its simple, easy to use and comfortable. I did not really need the directions to program the watch itself, but I do not use some of its more fancy alarm and lap meter functions. The watch itself is easy to read and the indiglo is also easy to read at night. I have not yet taken the watch into the water but I expect it to hold up well.
So far the watch is a pretty good watch but nothing overly exceptional either.

You can find better for the money (or less),
This review is from: Timex Women's T5K005 Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Resin Strap Watch (Watch)
Unless you want to end up with an expensive pocket watch after a few months of use, don't bother.
I bought this watch in February 2008, specifically for training for a half marathon in July 2008. I wore it for run training and cross-training activities, which pretty much consisted of swimming (read: nothing unusual). I trained for about five months consistently. Not long after the half (a few months or less), the band started ripping away from the watch face. I tried reattaching it, but to no avail. It got to the point where the watch was completely unwearable for fear of losing the face altogether and being left with a $40 plastic band. The face itself now sits - still functioning, mind you - at the bottom of a drawer in my kitchen. Useless. Don't waste your money on this watch. Hook yourself up with a Casio - those folks have a better idea of how to create a watch that'll withstand the sport you put it through. Or at least a Timex without this silly design flaw. It might look dainty from first glance, but it isn't functional or practical when push comes to shove.

Great watch terrible band,
This review is from: Timex Women's T5K005 Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Resin Strap Watch (Watch)
I've had various timex Triathlon watches and the watch always seems to outlive the band. However, with this watch which I bought in April, it was barely a month before the band started to come away and as with the surfer in a previous review, the watch part often falls out altogether. My band has also become very stained. It now sits on my bedside table and functions as an alarm clock only! I appreciate that this watch is economically priced in the US but I live in Bermuda and paid considerably more than the Amazon price for it. I would expect more from Timex!

I bought this watch in May and while it is easy to use the appearance is very worn. I only use this watch at work yet it looks like I use it in mud pits. I bought the blue band and it is very dirty and gray and does not clean up at all. The corners always pop up and need to be put back in place. I am not pleased at all with it.

Nice watch, iffy band,

I've had the Timex Ironman series watch for years. I love the stopwatch, countdown and alarms. It's very useful, especially for travelling.
I ignored the warnings about the band, and it's ok but not great. - the corners come off occasionally and have to be put back on - It can't easily be replaced - A friend lost the middle part of the watch surfing and was left with just the band

I love the features. The buttons are easy to figure out. My favorite feature is the intervals. Great for working out.

Great watch, not so great band,
This review is from: Timex Women's T5K005 Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Resin Strap Watch (Watch)
I've had this watch for several years. I love the features on this watch, I use the multiple alarms and timer often. The band is not as great. It starts to pull away from the watch at the corners. I finally super glued it back on a year or so ago, and that seemed to hold fine . The band also gets discolored. I'm not sure if it's grass stained or just sun damaged, but the exposed parts of my light blue band have turned a fairly dark green. Recently the ring that holds down the end of the strap broke off and now the strap sticks out. I'd recommend the same watch, but with a replaceable band.

A great buy. Inexpensive, yet still offers a lot of features. The plastic band is a bit stiff at first, but once it breaks in it is really comfortable. Super sporty, cute and easy to use. I recommend it to anyone.

I love the watch, bought one for me and one for my daughter. My daughter's is working and holding up fine. I am happy with the functions of mine, but the band broke off the face almost immediately. The band also stained right away and won't clean off. I will return it and I am sure timex will replace it, unfortunately it takes time to do so. A good watch for the money though.
