4.0 out of 5 stars Theophilus...it's about time! July 19, 2011
Format:MP3 Music
So, I have personally worked with Theophilus (doing live streaming) and seen him perform five times over the past three years. He is one of the most focused and creative people I have ever watched grow. With "Timez Are Weird These Days", TL finally gets the big release he deserves.

Pretty much everything you hear on "Timez" is what everyone else will be trying to replicate for the next 2-3 years in the hip hop / pop world.

Guys is ridiculously talented and if you get the chance to see him live, don't miss it.

The album isn't perfect...I almost prefer the perfection of the "Lover's Holiday EP", but you can't deny how progressive and talented TL proves to be.

Buy this and be transported into Theophilus London's vision. This is a true success story of Theophilus doing things his way and the industry coming to him instead of the other way around. Way to go man!

5.0 out of 5 stars Severely underrated August 7, 2011
By Ihvahn
Format:MP3 Music
If you're a fan of Kenna, you're already a fan of T. London. And just like Malcolm Gladwell's writing on Kenna in his book "Blink", London suffers from a modest welcome not due to a lack of talent, but perhaps a confused marketing target. This problem is apparent simply by looking at the guest starts: the brave T. London decides to plug into the indie community not just for talent to include on the album, but inspiration. His music has a touch of mainstream hip hip/rap, but mostly goes for fresh beats more reminiscent of the 80s and 90s - time periods that indie artists also seek for inspiration. Unfortunately, the mainstream may not be ready for such a nostalgic, yet fresh experience - but perhaps you are.

This is an awesome debut album. After hearing London's first EP, I knew he was gonna be big. Now I hear his songs everywhere. This guy's got a bright future ahead of him.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid First Release July 22, 2011
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
Been a fan of Theophilus for about a year now. Scoured the Internet and have most all of his previous mixtapes: This Charming Mixtape, JAM!, I Want You, and the EP, Lovers Holiday.

Keep in mind, the kid is really young and is pumping out new, fun music & videos, on his own, prior to Warner.

I've seen him perform twice in LA, at Key Club in March 2011 and just recently (July 2011) at The Troubadour. The Maximum Ballon Alex Metric remix "Groove Me" got the girls movin'.

With regard to this album, if you've heard his prior joints, then there's only a couple new songs. That said, I really like this album. I think he misses on "All Around The World", "One Last Time" and doing "I Stand Alone" on Kimmel was a mistake("Last Name London" Kimmel performance was better)

This album works and I think it's only gonna get even better for TL.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid album! July 30, 2011

This is the first album that I have actually BOUGHT in years, but when I heard it for the first time I knew it was going to be worth my money. It was. He has a great new sound and doesn't use misogynistic lyrics which is rare and appreciated.

Also, Wine and Chocolates is definitely the best song on the album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great New Flavor July 21, 2011

I was so pumped when I heard TL's Lovers Holiday EP that I couldn't wait to get his debut album. This guy's got talent for sure, stylish flows over some awesome upbeat/smooth beats (which are actually more complex than they let on), and he's even a bit of a vocalist! He's a great new addition to hip-hop and I think he actually has alot of crossover appeal. Great debut, buy his album so he can keep making music!
