Don't get me wrong, we are big Shaun the Sheep fans, but Timmy Time has definitely taken over. My boys (ages 2 and 4) relate much better to Timmy Time and his preschool friends! The show is much more colorful and vibrant that traditional Shaun the Sheep which I think makes it more appealing to preschoolers. It is nice too to own this DVD since we tend to miss Timmy Time when it is on tv and now we can watch it whenever we want or take it with us in the car. I think the Shaun the Sheep gang is also more mischievous than Timmy Time, which is another plus - my boys don't need any more ideas on getting into trouble! Timmy Time focuses on friends, playing, school, and is the perfect length (40 minutes) for entertaining my boys. I also don't mind watching it with them, especially since the characters don't talk, they do make sounds and other noises but no actual dialogue to take away from what the characters are doing.

Timmy Time is, of course, Shaun the Sheep for the pre-school set. As such, it continues the great run of shows that have spun from Wallace and Gromit. The three-year-olds recognize the set ups and situations much more readily than in S the S (or W & G) and the humor, still gently off-kilter and clever) is more geared toward them. As an adult, they do not offer the quite the same tapestry of subtle detail and slapstick, but are still entertaining and very watchable and provide a fun base to interact with the little ones. They are charming, gentle natured and sweet in the best sense of that over-used word.

My daughter and I love Timmy Time. My only disappointment was the length of the video. The whole season is available in the UK, on several dvds with 8-10 episodes per disk, and this release only has 5. I really wish they could release the whole season at once.

My son absolutely loves this video. He will watch it over and over. It has about 6 (or possibly more) episodes. Unfortunately lots of ads at the beginning and when it is set for continual playing it goes through each ad, that is when my son comes and gets me to skip the ads--smart boy.

I was so thrilled when I found out that Timmy was getting his own show - he's so cute! I loved the episodes in Shaun the Sheep that centered around Timmy and now we have this DVD that focuses soley on Timmy and his preschooler friends! And yes, there are several new characters now, Timmy's playmates at school and his teachers.

All of the episodes in Timmy Time are geared toward the toddler/preschooler crowd with plots and comedy they can relate to and understand. In one of my favorite episodes, Timmy's friend Apricot brings her blankie to school only to have someone mistake it for a rag to clean up! Timmy keeps bringing her replacements, hoping to help her. The best thing about this show is that each episode encourages sharing and thinking of others even when you are busy doing something else. :) I'm hoping that seeing Timmy being so thoughtful will rub off on my toddler!

So, so happy that Timmy Time is available in the US. It is hands down, my children's favorite show. And adults enjoy watching it too, which is rare for children's tv. My children are now 29 months and 15 months and we started watching it when we lived in Europe. Now my children can reconnect with their favorite character. And I can avoid marketing aimed at preschoolers!

This is my daughter's favorite show - she's two. It's also way more tolerable for grown ups to watch than many shows directed at the toddler and preschool set. I highly recommend this show for kids! I would say that Timmy Time would be great for ages 1-5. My seven year old watches along and enjoys it, too. :)
