Everyone remembers their hit "Timothy." This album offers most of the tracks from the Buoys' 1971 debut album and then a few. "Give Up Your Guns" is one of the best story songs (along with "Timothy") ever written. Other tracks are solid rockers from this largely overlooked band from the early 1970s.

A great cd of recordings from this Wilkes Barre,Pa band. Inspite of having only the one hit, don't stop there if you haven't heard their album which is included on this CD and other really great obscure cuts. The group in some ways sounds a little like the Hollies in some cases. If you like good rare early 70s obscure R&R and/or just like Rare good overlooked music, I definitely recommend the Buoys recordings and later recordings under the name Dakota.
