From the Inside Flap
Timmy Hubble celebrates New Orleans tradition in this colorfully illustrated children's book. Shortly after moving to the Crescent City, Timmy receives a special invitation from his new friend, Adam. It's Mardi Gras season, and Adam's family is hosting a king cake party, but Timmy has never even heard of a king cake. Adam and his sister introduce Timmy to this New Orleans custom by describing the cake that has purple, gold, and green icing and a baby baked inside. Timmy is bewildered as Adam tells him about the hole in the center of the cake and the journey of the three wise men to see the baby Jesus. But the cake is the least of Timmy's worries when he finds out girls have been invited to the party! In this delightful children's story, young readers will join Timmy in discovering how new experiences can be fun, not frightening. They will also learn interesting facts about Mardi Gras, king cake tradition, and the real reason king cake parties are so much fun--friendship.
