About the Artist
TIN EAR is a musical ensemble that consists of percussionist Robert Geddes, and composers/musicians Allan Loucks and David Loucks. Allan and David took their early musical training, band, performance, and choir directing experience and met drummer Robert Geddes while studying music at Seattle University in the early 1980's. They did the usual band thing, playing full-time in clubs, colleges, taverns, high schools, and halls all over the Pacific Northwest, as well as touring across the United States. With time they realized that they shared a dream of writing and eventually producing their own album. After getting his music degree David did work at UCLA in film scoring and started his own recording studio and production company. Allan continued his studies and graduated with degrees in music, audio engineering, and computer science, and became a composer, software engineer, and sound designer. After graduating with music and business degrees, Robert went to work at Boeing. They continued to play together, and performed in many local venues. In 1994 they were ready to begin work on their album project. They now had the facilities, equipment, and experience in writing, arranging, and performing. TIN EAR began the process of recording their first major project. As 1995 began, the project was almost complete. Nine tracks were mixed and ready to go. 5 more tracks needed just a little more work before mixing could begin. On March 7, 1995, David was murdered in his studio, Alternative Productions, in Seattle, and the project came to a tragic standstill. By the summer, Allan and Robert were encouraged to finish mixing the project. A year after David's death, TIN EAR's first CD, the self-titled alternative/prog-rock TIN EAR, was released from Seattle. Brian Ledford joined the band as vocalist early in 1997. In March 1997, TIN EAR released their second CD, NAME THAT MOOD, containing explorations into modern classical music. During the summer of 1997, Spencer Hoveskeland joined the band as bassist. Product Description Debut release, consisting of rock/alternative/progressive songs by composers David Loucks and Allan Loucks. |
