This review is from: Tina Turner - All the Best (DVD)
This is a very special DVD because it captures a part of Tina's career. Here you can find most of her biggest hits and greatest performances live.
The track list is good but some songs such as TYPICAL MALE or WHATEVER YOU WANT are missing. Most of the videos are from the LIVE IN AMSTERDAM and ONE LAST TIME DVD's. Personally I would have added different locations or scenes, like for example on SHOW SOME RESPECT, they could have added the not-released on video the version from LIVE IN BARCELONA 1990 or added old videos from NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS, PROUD MARY or even ACID QUEEN. Just to have something new to see. For STEAMY WINDOWS you can find a mix of shots from 1990 to 2000 and you can really notice how a great performer and ageless Tina is that for 10 years she dances and performs with the same energy and strengh. One of the highlight videos is LET'S STAY TOGETHER, what a wonderful act from Tina, amazing. I'm also very glad the you can find here WHATEVER YOU NEED (ofor me this is one of Tina's best songs ever). With songs such as I CAN'T STAND THE RAIN or ADDICTED TO LOVE Tina rocks wildly. The BETTER BE GOOD TO ME election is good but the most powerful release for this track was the one from her 1985 PRIVATE DANCER LIVE video. Among the bonus features you can find THE BEST, BE TENDER WITH ME BABY, PARADISE IS HERE (never before seen live video), OPEN ARMS live on Parkinson, the video of COSE DELLA VITA next to Eros Ramazzotti and a 25 minute interview with Tina where she talks about her ALL THE BEST greatest hits album plus the three new songs for it. I really enjoy this video and even though you go from videos from 1985 to 2000 you feel them with the same power, it's like it was a full length video. My final comment is that I wish there's an up coming ALL THE BEST-THE VIDEO COLLECTION.

What's odd about this is that I've at times in the past thought it would be awesome to combine diferent song performances from diferent tours to make a sort of "mega"-concert of her all-time best. It's so awesome, then, that I wasn't the only one to have this thought. The fact that the songs performed are from tours and shows 20 or more years apart is unimportant and irrelevant due to her amazing agelessness and energy. This set perfectly shows her unique staying power, energy, beauty, and protection against time. Tina's live shows have long been the stuff of rock legend, and this disc shows why. All these performances are wonderful, with fantastic sound and picture clarity. As a MAJOR Tina fan, I'm always thrilled to see new Tina material surface, and even though I have most all the shows in whole represented here in part, it still makes me happy to watch this disc, as a tribute to a very special lady.

THERE IS PROBABLY NO GREATER PERFORMER ANYWHERE. THIS COLLECTION OF LIVE PERFORMANCES IS FUN TO WATCH. SHE'S ENERGETIC, AS USUAL, ALWAYS A 110%, THE BAND IS GREAT, AND LOTS OF COOL STAGE EFFECTS. SPECIAL GUESTS INCLUDE DAVID BOWIE AND BRYAN ADAMS. A HIGHLIGHT FOR ME WAS THE LIVE VERSION OF THE THEME FROM 'GOLDENEYE'.

This collection of Tina's best live performances is a must have for any Tina Turner fan. While I am still waiting for a collection of her videos from the Virgin Records Days(1993-1999), this dvd provides a great deal of entertainment value. Even though the concert clips are stretched over a period of 20 some years, they flow seamlessly from one to the next without you getting the feeling that anything is dated. It shows that she still has as much power live today as she did when she debuted with Private Dancer.

Combining live performances from Tina's solo years is a brilliant idea because Tina is at her best when she is performing live. She is definitely a great video star but her live performances are excellent both visually and musically.
Most of these performances are selected from a 15 year period from 1985 to 2000. However, they come together seamlessly as if it's one performance. Never throughout the video do you see Tina's energy weaken. In fact, you will notice that by 2000, Tina's show is bigger and better than ever. This is a modestly-priced collection and worth every penny!

Considering that Tina Turner put on dozens of energetic shows during her 50th Anniversary Tour at the age of 69, you really need to see to believe how dynamic she was in her prime, by which I mean in her 40s and 50s. It was during those years that she sang and danced like a woman possessed (and looked fabulous doing it) thoughout the five massive stadium tours anthologized on this DVD: the Private Dancer Tour (1985), the Foreign Affair Tour (1990), the What's Love Live Tour (1994), the Wildest Dreams Tour (1996), and the Twenty Four Seven Tour (2000). From the latter comes the misnamed "One Last Time in Concert" at Wembley Stadium, possibly Tina's best performance ever -- and she had just reached 60!Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 1991, recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 2005, and winner of eight Grammy Awards, Tina Turner is, as Rolling Stone magazine called her, the Queen of Rock & Roll. She never gives less than 100 percent. This live video collection is indisputable evidence of her power over enraptured audiences, a joyful demonstration of her musical and theatrical craft, and one hell of a good time. Dedicated devotees will prefer the two-DVD collector's edition of "Tina Turner Live in Amsterdam / One Last Time: Live in Concert" so as to have complete shows, but for many casual fans, this disc will do nicely. Below is a complete listing of the contents of "All the Best: The Live Collection." 1. Steamy Windows 2. Show Some Respect 3. I Can't Stand the Rain 4. River Deep - Mountain High 5. Missing You 6. GoldenEye 7. Addicted to Love 8. Private Dancer 9. Let's Stay Together 10. What's Love Got to Do with It 11. I Don't Wanna Fight 12. In Your Wildest Dreams 13. When the Heartache Is Over 14. We Don't Need Another Hero 15. It's Only Love (with Bryan Adams) 16. Tonight (with David Bowie) 17. Nutbush City Limits 18. Better Be Good to Me 19. Proud Mary 20. Whatever You Need Extras 1. All the Best Interview 2. The Best 3. Open Arms (Live on Parkinson) 4. Paradise Is Here 5. Be Tender with Me Baby 6. Cose Della Vita (with Eros Ramazotti)

I was looking for a video to listen to while using my treadmill and was totally blown away with Ms. Turner's concert. Great production and great quality. I now find that I cannot stop exercising until I view the entire video... and the time goes by too quickly. I never get tired of listening to it. No performer can compare to Ms. Tina Turner!!! (Except, maybe, Phil Collins!)

90 % of what we see on this DVD has been released on DVD in the last few years. Again a Tina Turner release where EMI/Capitol takes absolutely no effort to give fans something rare and extra. After the disappointing "Simply the best" DVD, they manage to screw it up again.
