5.0 out of 5 stars a must have for any rock lover!
6gig is the best young alt rock group to come out in a long time!

This album is completely rocking all around! From track 1 to track 12 the band keeps you interested and loving it. Method kicks the album off with hard riffs and great lyrics. Hit the Ground follows it up with what will turn into a smash radio hit! Five is definitely a radio release tune! A Tincan...

2.0 out of 5 stars Maine Thing
This CD has a special place in my heart. I live in Maine and have seen 6gig about 5-6 times. They always put on a good show, and their songs have lots of energy. As far as Tincan Experiement goes, its a good CD, but as someone else said there are a few skipable songs. 5, hit the ground, and yesterday stand out as my favorites. They are worth a listen if you have never...

A Tincan Experiment slows the album down a bit with a more emotional jam and then the boys get right back into it with YESTERDAY! Another awesome track, Yesterday, looks to be the second radio release for 6gig and another number #1!

Overall this album is very well done and worth a listen. Support our young bands!

Amazon was the only place that I could find 6 Gig. I heard "Hit The Ground" the first single and had to buy it. The rest of the cd is really amazing music. "Yesterday" the second single isn't quite as catchy as "Hit The Ground" but an equally good song. The gem of the album is for sure the epic at the end "Willie"

I am one of those people who goes about once every 4 months and buys 6 cd's all at once, gets in the car, listens to them all track by track quickly and pops in the next. by the time i get home im very dissappointed in what ive spent my money on, i always get 2 hit song cd's, when i have both hits on my computer at home!! what a waste! WELL! 6GiGs Tincan Experiment cd, is definately not a waste, I love this cd, its a *must*, I listen to it streight through, and to tell you the truth ive had it on replay, and im still not played out!! Also, I'm from and am a college student from Texas, and I visit Portland, Maine every summer, extra points for 6gig, Portland Rocks! From Texas-Maine!

This first album by 6gig is great - variety, interesting lyrics, rockin' sound, tight instrumentals (even a string quartet!). This band is going places fast. Check them out!

I first heard theses guys on the radio with the song 5. At first I just thought it was a good song but then I heard they were from Portland, which is pretty close to where I live. I went out and bought the cd and boy was I amazed. This is one of the best cds I have ever heard from a band that is relatively new. There isn't really much to say except GO BUY THE ALBUM!!! These guys are definitley going somewhere, and that's to the top.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very successful experiment indeed!, January 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tincan Experiment (Audio CD)
A wonderful mix of heavy sounds and original melodies... These guys really got it right on this record...reminds me a bit of Incubus and Disturbed, but still very original. Lots of depth on this CD, and it sounds great start to finish. "Hit the Ground" and "Method" are brilliant. I predict big things from this band. Highly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cerebral heaviness!, December 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Tincan Experiment (Audio CD)
What sets 6gig apart from their hard rock comtemporaries is their ability to combine cerebral subtleties (intelligent lyrics, Failure-esque guitars, unusual melodies) with visceral, detuned heaviness. Their shows are probably half full of headbanging, jock fratboys and half full of ivy league grad students.

4.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing to the Ears, December 8, 2000
This review is from: Tincan Experiment (Audio CD)
I originally picked up a promotional single by 6gig at a record store containing the songs "5" and "Yesterday" and I immediately fell in love with this band. The other people who reviewed this album are all right, it's got a different sound than all the other junk on the radio we're all forced to listen to. 6gig has a sound that comes close to a Tool/Filter/Helmet hybrid while still maintaining an original sound. This album is refreshing to the ears after the decay of rock and roll. 6gig is one of the few remaining bands that can still write good music.
