My 4yr. old loves this umbrella and takes it everywhere with her. It's made pretty well and I like how there's no protruding hinge that you need to push down in order to close the umbrella. You simply pull it down to retract it or push it up to open it, which makes the umbrella easy for kids to open and close it. I think she likes it so much because she can use it without asking a grown-up to help her.

As there was no rain on the day the package was opened the recipient used it to shade her breakfast from the sun! Don't know if this will last but the three year old owner was absolutely delighted. Good size and light weight for a child.

My two year old desperately wanted to carry an umbrella like her big sister. But most umbrellas feature pointy bits ideal for poking little eyes, and pinchy mechanisms just waiting to grab little fingers.
This umbrella is perfect for littler kids - nice rounded ball tips on the ribs, and an open/close mechanism that stays open well, but is easy to close by simply pulling down - no releases to press or anything. My kid can work this and carry it around with a minimum of danger to herself and others. The fairies are cute, and the purple color is nifty, too. Definitely a winner.
