4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute but a little larger than expected., August 13, 2008
This review is from: R & M Tinplate 5" Crown Cookie Cutter (Kitchen)
I bought this for my daughter's princess birthday and used it for sandwiches but I needed to buy bread that was wide instead of tall.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crown Shaped Sandwiches for Princess Party, August 2, 2010

I bought 2 of these cookie cutters to use for my daughter's 5th Birthday Party (a Princess Party, of course). I used them to make crown shaped sandwiches. We used one for the meat sandwiches and one for peanut butter & jelly. If you use these for sandwiches, you will need to get bread that is rectangular (county-style?) not the regular square, as the cookie cutter is larger than a regular piece of bread. (I did manage to get one out of regular bread by angling it, but it didn't turn out very well). I would also suggest a wheat or whole grain bread that has a little strength to it. Push the cutter down on the completed sandwhich, then remove the crust and outer sections BEFORE lifting the cutter and carefully punching out the "good" part. You have to be careful with the points of the crown so that they don't tear when removing the cutter but with a little practice they came out really cute! A MUST HAVE FOR ANY PRINCESS!

I used this to make christmas ornament for all the little girls in my family. It is a nice size, big enough to write the average name on it. Big hit with all the little princesses.

Bought this to make my daughter tiara French toast for breakfast the morning of the Royal Wedding (Catherine and William). I used a rolling pin to flatten down slices of cinnamon bread and then cut out the shapes with this cookie cutter. When they were done cooking I studded the tiara French toast with blueberries, strawberries (sliced into the peak shape of the tiara) and one large blackberry in each one. It turned out really cute and my daughter (age two) was calling it her "princess French toast". I'm sure this would work great with dough since it worked so well on firm bread. I'm very pleased with it.
