Warmth, Not Tinsel, March 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Tinseltown (Audio CD)
This is one of Pierce Pettis earlier albums, but as always, it's a good one. Others who've written about him priase his live performances, which are not to be missed. BTW, the world needs a Pierce Pettis live recording. As for this one, it begins with "Moments" a song with simple but powerful lyrics, powerfully delivered that make this one of my favorite songs by Pierce. "You Can't Get Away From My Love" is not about obsession, but rather about the willingness to love on many levels without expecting it to be returned, an influence of Pierce's Christianity. The title song aks us to reflect on what's really important. A Pierce Pettis recording, like this one, or a live performance asks, but does not demand, that you relect on life and the world around us. Get this recording if you can.
