4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all!, November 4, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tintin: Cigars of Pharaoh [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This earlier adventure of Tintin's comes along before the introduction of Haddock and Calculus, but is still alot of fun. I would recommend it to any Tintin fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Snakes! Great cartoon!!!, January 8, 2003
This review is from: Tintin: Cigars of Pharaoh [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I remember first watching this movie when I was 9, after I got it from a trip to France. I love it, not only because i'm a huge Tintin fan, but because it was true to the book. In this movie,Tintin joins an archeologist, Sophocles Sarchopagus on his search for the tomb of the pharaok Ki-Osk. the mystery thickens and tintin then finds himself in Arabia then in India. This story also is significant as it is the first to show the bumbling Thompson and Thomson, the look-alike detectives, and Roberto Rastapopoulos, the movie tycoon. All three characters become significant in the later Tintin adventures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tintin video that's true to the book, October 3, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Tintin: Cigars of Pharaoh [VHS] (VHS Tape)
If you like the Tintin series of adventure books for kids, you'll like this video, too. It's in the same style as the original book by Herge, and the story follows the story in the book. "Cigars of the Pharaoh" isn't one of these "adaptations" that change everything for the worse! One other video is available in the same series: "Secret of the Unicorn," which we and our kids love, too. END
