I purchased 2 of these and couldnt be more pleased. My 10 month old nephew loves the fuzzy cover and enjoys the the stories being read to him. The other went to our 3 year old cousin. It is very age appropriate and is a wonderful way to introduce the Bible. This is my new baby gift, I will give one to every child I know.

Tiny Bear's Bible is the newest offering from Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of three best-selling children's Bibles. Its novelty is found in the fur. Both front and back covers are wrapped in a thick, soft bear's fur.

Inside readers find eleven Bible stories told through rhyming verse. A distinction between this children's Bible and all others is the voice. Each Bible story is one or two paragraphs (typically four stanzas long) followed by one paragraph (two to four stanzas) of application, spoken directly to Tiny Bear.

What I Like: The illustrations by Igor Oleynikov are so unique! They are filled with colors, but the style sets them apart from from all other children's books. They are sophisticated, somewhere between a stippled design and impressionism. As a former art student, I was quite taken by them. My son loves the fur! He has been hesitant to read through many children's Bibles, but he loves this one. I appreciate the applications with each story. It forces parents and children to think about what the stories means for us today. I also applaud the inclusion of biblical references with each chapter.

What I Dislike: Between the fur, the text and the illustrations, this book seemed inconsistent to me. After playing with the outside, the inside completely surprised me. The outside is cutesy; the inside is not. It seems an odd combination to me. Also, I felt the Bible stories were simplistic and incomplete. There is never any explanation of why these things happened.

Age Appeal: Infant - Preschool (Reading level is grade 6 and above.)

Overall Rating: Good.

This fur-clad board book was absolutely perfect for my infant son's first bible. It's very soft and durable--perfect for baby's little hands to manage. Tiny Bear's Bible breaks down some of the Bible's classic stories, whose messages will not be lost on your little one.

The illustrations are very sweet, providing both classic biblical images, as well as a few appearances by Tiny Bear in his own little world.

Tiny Bear's Bible is available in either pink or blue, and since the bible stories are paraphrased, not lifted from any certain version of the Bible, there is no worry about whether or not there will be any conflict between Tiny Bear and your family's translation of choice.

At only eight months old, my son loves his Tiny Bear Bible so much that I've confidently purchased several more copies for friends who have recently added on to their families.

What an amazing book! My youngest daughter received one as a gift and two people in church have asked for the same book since! Bravo!

I bought this for a baptism gift and I will give it many times over. I loved the illustrations and it is beautifully written. Some children's bibles are a little adult but this version is superb. This is one of the best introductory bibles I have seen and is great for young children of all ages.

I just love, love, love this Tiny Bear's Bible. Sally Lloyd-Jones is such a excellent author and always has books that every child will love.
On the outside of this Bible it has a fuzzy, warm covering that children will cuddle and love. It is almost a stuffed animal and Bible combined. It is just precious.

This Bible makes a great gift for any child between the ages of two through five and even older children will love it. I'm going to be giving this wonderful Bible to my little grandson for Christmas. I know he will love it. He already loves books and this one is extra special.
The stories are only one page long, but very interesting. The sentences are rhyming and fun. Here is one story that is very special.
Jesus Stops a Scary Storm

The disciples thought that they might drown.
Their tiny boat tossed up and down.
"HELP! Wake up! Quickly! Lord!" they cry.
"This storm is big. Those waves are high!"

Jesus said, "Stop!"
The waves-obeyed!
Why had they ever been afraid?
The storm was big, but God was there.
Just like He's with us, Tiny Bear.
Highly recommend this sweet Bible for your precious child, grandchild or friend. A five-star book for sure.

This was so cute and the illustrations are darling! Nice Bible stories too. Made the perfect Baptism gift! My 4.5 year old loved it too! Now we need to order another one! Worth the money looks far more expensive! And is larger than we thought it would be!

Precious gift for a baby or toddler. I give it at every baby
shower and all my grandboys have one. The only problem with
ordering off Amazon is that the book doesn't come in its
original packaging. That's the only negative.

We were impressed with all aspects of the order.
I would recommend this cute bible to anyone
with a young male child.

this along with the Jesus story book bible are our favorites! this one is a board book very appropriate for my 13 month old daughter! it was a gift from a good friend and it's now one of my favorite gifts to give! my daughter loves it and carries it around with her. =) we love the illustrations and the rhymes and the clearly presented, simple, biblical truth. i do wish it was longer b/c we do like it so much, but that's the nature of a board book!
