Product Description

Gem Spinner II
Make matches to earn stars
Spin Your Way Around the World

Ready to go on a treasure hunt? Gem Spinner II: Water Quest is the sequel to the hit puzzle game, offering a twist on the traditional "match three" game play. You're a globe-trotting archaeologist trying to restore gems taken from priceless artifacts. How do you do this? Puzzle boards, of course!

Each board contains colored gems encased in pieces of different shapes and sizes. Switch adjacent gems within a piece to line up three or more in a row. They'll vanish and be replaced by more gems. Make as many gem matches as you can to reach a high score on each level.

Piece de Resistance

The twist to Gem Spinner II's game play lies in those pieces. You can move the pieces around and rotate them to make for matches that aren't otherwise possible. That new flexibility is what makes this game special.

But they'll also add complexity to your strategy. Each time you make a gem match, that part of a piece goes dark. If the entire piece is dark, it vanishes completely. Clear away the smaller pieces too early, and you'll be stuck for matches to get rid of the big ones. You'll have to plan your matches carefully to get ahead.

Gem Spinner II
Those pesky suns limit your ability to move pieces
Here Comes the Sun... Unfortunately

But that planning had better be quick, because you're working under a time limit. Take too long, and nasty suns appear to block piece movement and mess up your carefully laid plans.

Fortunately, you can also earn sparkling gems that add ultra-flexible one-cell pieces to the board. You can also use Casual Mode, which turns off the time limit for a more relaxing experience.

Playing Tourist

There are puzzle boards waiting for you all around the world, from the jungles of Central America to the shores of the Caribbean. Complete all levels at one destination to unlock the next. Fifty levels across five locations, all accompanied by beautiful background graphics, will keep up interest for a long time to come.

Earn as many stars as you can on each level, and shoot for that elusive and difficult Perfect award. There are even challenging puzzle levels with set gems and goals that'll really test your mettle!

So what are you waiting for? Those gems aren't going to be matching themselves!

5.0 out of 5 stars At first I was ticked I bought it April 19, 2013

Because I couldn't figure out what the heck I was doing but once I figured you had to do the normal match 3 but not by dragging but by tapping one and swapping the correct gem I had it made...i thought. But the part that had me horn-doggled was how to match any others once the obvious were done. I finally figured it out when I hit the "Hint" button and it told me to double tap any jewel to rotate the piece! Ah HA! After using the Hint button a few times to get the feel for it (I'm playing in casual mode) I finally got it and it's a BLAST!!! And it's a long playing game as there is a button on the bottom right and you change the gem for the rings and it starts fresh all over again.

Playing on a Kindle Fire HD and I highly recommend this game!

GEM SPINNER II is the hardest Match 3 I have yet played... and I love it! I didn't initially find the tutorial (go to Central America first for the tutorials... I had started with Niagara Falls and then went west. hah), so I had to figure out how to play as I went along, which is part of the difficulty, but fortunately there is a Casual (No Timer, Unlimited Hints) option that let me take my time in working out the mechanics.

Minimal Permissions (Write to External Memory), does NOT request Network Access, but at the same time does use the Marmalade SDK, a platform network that allows the dev to update the [News!] section on the main screen with new game publications. The code is otherwise clean. Under [Options] are tucked the self-promotion bits (Dev Website,FB, Twitter and Rate Us), yet no popup pushes occurred during my play. This game does seem to run OFFLINE consistently, especially since it doesn't even request Network Access. Back-key does exit cleanly.

The game theme is akin to the Indiana Jones feel, replete with world locations and rather fun atmospheric instrumental music representing each location (Big Band for Niagara Falls, Middle Eastern for Egypt, a Sailor Shanty-esque for the Caribbean, and so on). Game play is marvelously complex, given a screen of Tetris-like shapes. Rotate, move, even stack these gem-filled shapes to match 3, each match darkening the cells until all the cells in that shape pops and disappears for good. This can be a good AND bad thing, depending. Removing the shapes opens up more room to manipulate and move them about for greater flexibility, yet if you remove too many too soon, you will find yourself stuck well before you can hit Perfect or even that fourth star!

4.0 out of 5 stars "Unique Match 3 Game With A NewTwist"........... August 31, 2014

This is a new type of match 3 game with a different twist on it...It is very challenging and requires a lot of thought for your next move..You can match 3 gems in the same box, spin the box to try and match 3 or drag the box to a different position to match 3 gems...You are up against a timer so if your moving too the slow Evil Sun will come out and not allow you to spin or drag boxes in that location.... ..Quite A Unique Game......

Very beautiful background graphics, nice music and sound fxs....You have 150 different levels across five different locations around the world...There are 3 modes to play in: Casual Mode, Timed Mode and Survival Mode.....

To get the hang of the game I am playing in Casual mode with no timer and unlimited amount of hints...You can find this mode under settings button which is in your lower right hand corner....You also can control your music and sound fxs from there...You also find your link to facebook, twitter and rate this game there..

On the main menu you find a tab for the developers other games...

No malware, intrusive permissions or IAP's...

We did find a Tutorial under the Gold Temple....It is a graduation hat ICON that once you finish it and pass you get one star for graduating....Then you start you different levels....

This is the most challenging match three game I have ever played. You can tap two pieces in the same combined shape block and exchange them as long as they make a match. In addition you can rotate each grouping to get a match and finally you can drag a grouping to get a match. Man, this game makes you think about each move.

I strongly suggest you go to the settings mode and select casual play with no timer and unlimited hints. After a game or two you will begin to get the idea of how to play the game with the unlimited hints helping you.

I did get to one game where I almost cleared the board and the game asked me, with hints, to move the same two pieces over and over without any possibility to win. It was like it was caught in a program loop. The odd part was that I had cleared 85 percent of the board, had a very good score and I couldn't move onto the next level and I couldn't win. It was very frustrating. It seems to be an error in the programming and I was locked in that game. I had to hit the pause button and tell it that I was Done and it finally registered my score.

Overall it is a fun game but difficult to play. I might have given it a 5 star rating until it locked up in the continuous loop mode and for that I removed a star. To me it should have recognized that the level was completed and far as possible and registered the score automatically instead of telling me to continuously move pieces around the board like something was going to happen.

Under settings there are links to Facebook and twitter. There is also a link to please rate this game. I like that there is a selection for a casual mode with no timer and endless hints.
