Children grow in stages and as a consequence some toys are not forever, babies and children simply outgrow them. The Tiny Love Activity Gym is one of these types of toys. It won't keep a growing baby's attention for even 12 months, but this limitation should be viewed as a feature not as a deterrent to buying it.

The short duration of its usefulness is due to its intentional design. The striking combinations of red, white and black have been studied and proven to engage and stimulate babies in their early months when their vision is still developing.

And we loved ours. It went through 2 children without strain and now it has gone off to the neighbors newborn twins. It was easily washed and simply great in providing fun for that must have `belly-time'.

Summary: The Tiny Love Activity Gym has its place and function and our babies loved it. It is for those wonderful, romance months when your beautiful new baby is focussed on you and maybe a little bit of his/her nearby environment.

I love that this toy is black, white and red. The colors are great for little minds, in fact, that is what first attracted me to this toy. After I got it, I was so glad that I decided to get it. My play gymini is being used for a second time...we have a new baby and I still like this gym better than any other brand on the market right now. I think its design is far superior to other models I have seen. It is great! So durable, and the babies love to look at the toys and stare at the black and white stripes and polk-a-dots. The toys are soft and safe. The musical toy does need an adult to press it for the music to start. The arches are attatched at the top with a snap and then attatched to each corner with snaps. The snap at the top of the arch can be unsnapped quickly so that the arches fold down and lay flat on the floor or all the snaps can be unsnapped and the arches will actually come off of the mat altogethere. So, with the arches folded down or detatched, the mat can be used for diaper changes or a sleeping mat etc. You always have a clean, soft place to lay baby when you are out at grandma's or wherever. The toy is very easy to take along for travel, just fold it up and go. Oh, and the mat washes up easily...Just unsnap the arches and throw it in the washing machine.
You can also purchase other toys to dangle from the arches and you can purchase extra hanging rings which allow you to extend the toys as low as you want...however, I like the toys just as they are.

I got this as a gift, because everyone said ya had to have it. It is ok, and it is a good toy for an infant, but the value runs out in a hurry! The links are great (they can be bought seperately) and the toys - average. The mat itself really is only any good until babies can roll. And the dome is not high enough to be much interest when they can sit up. The links are great, for carseat, stroller, and random use, but the cost with the mat is NOT worth the money. You end up buying more toys and links, because what is included is limited. Buy it resale, or if you don't care about spending $ on a toy that is only good for 4 months. I think the Symphony gym (Fisher Price) though it has a few flaws, is a MUCH better play value item. I also liked Activity link gym, as it can be fun to sit in front of too. Sorry, I am one of the only ones that didn't go nuts over it. I think we buy toys sometimes because "everyone" has them, good or bad.

A girlfriend of mine, who is a neo-natal nurse, recommended the black, red and white tiny love products to me. She explained that babies see these colors the best and that staring at the various designs is good for their eye development. I purchased this gym for my son when he was 6 weeks old. He absolutely loves it! The colors stimulate his eyesight much more than any toy we've found. He kicks, coos, laughs and waves his arms in delight at this toy. Rather than using the mat as a babysitter, we enjoy watching our son's constant smiles as he plays. Our family and friends love coming over to watch him play too. I plan on buying this gym for all of my pregnant girlfriends, and I highly recommend it to all new parents.

Both my girls love this gym. My 2-month old is already fascinated at looking at herself or the arches over her. She loves to coo and smile every time she is in it. My now 21-month old still enjoys trying to get in it and listening to the music. When she was younger, she learned to turn over for the first time in this gym. She gets bored rather easily, but this toy seemed to keep her attention the longest.

They both have different personalities, but really enjoyed learning and gained a lot of brain stimulation from the black/white/red contrasts. I hang additional toys for easy reach and more fun.

It is easy to unsnap the mat for easy cleaning in the washer. BUT, I would have liked to wash the arches. Using an antibacterial wipe seems to do the trick just as well. I wash the mat rather frequently and it has not faded much.

Have fun with this one. I really recommend it. It's great to bring when visiting friends and family.

I recieved this playmat as a shower gift. I loved it so much I bought it for some of my expectant friends. I put my daughter on the mat as a newborn and truly believe it helped her develop skills such as reaching and rolling over. She is 6 months old and she still loves to play under it. A good buy for your buck!!! The arches are soft too, so when she rolls around I don't have to worry she will get hurt. I really like the fact that I can throw it in the washing machine (mat and toys) to wash and then in the dryer. Yes, it does fade a little, but so do my clothes. It's great to fold it up and use the arches as a carrier. It's so easy to toss in the back of the car and take on trips. I also bought additional hanging toys and rings. More rings are great when they are younger and eliminate them as they get order to get them to reach for the object. I take the toys off too and my daughter loves to chew on them.

I'm listening to my 4 month old son coo with joy right now as he plays in his gym. He really loves it and he is able to occupy himself for quite a long time when he's in the gym. The colors and the hanging toys really stimulate him. He wasn't interested in the gym till he was about 2 months old, but since then it's been his favorite. And I have enjoyed watching how he has developed from just staring at the hanging toys, to reaching out for them to batting them with his little fists. I've added additional toys to the rings to keep it interesting for him. The mat has become a permanent fixture on the living room floor and I feel comfortable laying him down on the mat while I work around him. When I pick him up and carry him around the room or sit with him in a chair, his eyes are always transfixed on the bold colors of the mat. I really find this to be an educational and fun toy for my baby.

I received the Gymini 3D Activity Gym as a gift when my son was born. From the first moment I laid him under the hanging toys, he was mesmerized. The Gymini kept the toys out of his mouth (and stopped those accidental whacks with heavy rattles), yet not commpletely out of reach. Toys from other sets can be hung as well by attaching them to the rings and more links can be added to lower or add toys.

Since the Gymini folds up into a carrying case, this is a good way to pack an afternoon worth of toys into one bag. It can also serve as a cushioned area for the little one to take a nap. This is a toy that got a lot of use in our home and I would recommend it as a gift for any newborn.

I received this at a baby shower before my son was born and never could have dreamed I'd get as much use from it as I have. All three of my kids have loved it. It washes easily and holds up very well. It can also take alot of abuse from older siblings! Newborns enjoy looking at the bright colors even before they're old enough to play with the toys. I highly recommend it to all new moms.

I usually don't write these reviews, but I feel so strongly about this product that I had to write a review.

I am a first time mom. I bought this for my son when he was 4 weeks old. I was a little shocked by the price but now I would have paid much more for this. The very day I brought this home he played with it for an hour uninterupted. He loved the colorful toys and the noises that they made when he batted at them. This toy folds flat for storage or travel (which is invaluable). When you have baby in one hand you can very easily unsnap to set up with the other. This product is light weight and durable. The mat has been washed several times and still looks great.

The toys detach from the activity gym and fit conveniently into a diaper bag. My son loves the octopus and I was relieved that it is sold separately in case mommy lost it.

My son is almost 6 months old and he lays on his tummy and looks up at the animals, which is a great way to get a young baby to try to lift their head.

This is a great toy!!!!!
