The Gymini arch is a great baby toy. It kept my daughter busy for hours! She loved looking at the toys, and later enjoyed batting them, grabbing them, and, of course, tasting them. I could put her under the arch, and she would be happy and quiet for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. My suggestions:

3.0 out of 5 stars My friend breathed new life into this one...
My baby had played with this a little bit, but loses interest to fast. By the time she was 5 or 6 months old and could sit up and crawl she was onto bigger and better things. I was packing it up for good when my friend suggested tenting it. She did this with her son and got months and months more use out of it. We covered it with a light blanket. Now I cannot keep her out...

Buy Extra Linking Rings - We bought an extra package of the Gymini linking rings and used them everywhere. We hung the Gymini toys from her carseat, we hung them from her bouncer, and we used them in restaurants to attach toys to the highchair. Today, at 15 months, she is fascinated by the rings, and plays with them on their own.

Hang Different Toys - Don't limit yourself to the toys that come with the playmat. Almost any toy can be suspended from the arch. We had fun changing them, trying new ones, and moving them from ring to ring.

The only thing we never really used was the play mat itself. Our daughter didn't really like being on her tummy, and never really took an interest in the squeaky toy or the other activities. Also, after you step on the squeaky toy a few times... well, it doesn't squeak so well. And, after you wash the mat a few times, the crinkly toy doesn't crinkle as loudly as it did when new. But, the colors have stayed bright with many washings, and the toys are still in our toy box.

Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ONLY toy for a baby less than 6 months old, November 30, 2003
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tiny Love Gymini Deluxe - Noah's Ark (Toy)
The Noah's Ark Gymini Activity Mat Deluxe is a wonderful toy for babies. You can lay them there when they are only a few weeks old and they can look around at the colors, and listen to the tunes. Each toy can be dangled in different holes and positions. And because of the colors, it holds the baby's attention. Once the baby gets older, he'll start batting at the toys and grabbing onto them. You can get good pictures standing over them as they look at the toys, as well as from the side. Extra toys can be purchased and hung on the plastic chains in the holes on the arches. This mat is also portable, you simply fold the arches flat, and snap the sides of the mat in place, to put it back in the carrying case. The mat can also be washed by detaching it by the snaps from the arches. A very practical and entertaining toy.

I bought this toy for my daughter when she was 1 1/2 months old. She was mesmerized by the bright colors and interesting shapes. She especially loves the faces and dangling playthings. Now that she's 3 months old, she is starting to grab at the toys and bat at them. I'm so glad to see she can actually grasp them. I can't wait until she can really support her head and I can put her on her stomach to check out the brightly colored, fun mat itself. I would definitely recommend to all parents. It's her favorite place to be (next to my arms!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Gymini, November 21, 1999

I bought this toy before I had the baby. At the very beginning my newborn couldn't care less and I figured I spent my money on nothing. Now at 3 mos of age she is enjoying laying and looking up at her 'friends'. She bats at the figures and giggles at them and "flirts" with them too. I don't feel like I spent my money on nothing anymore... especially since at the age she is at now theres not much she CAN do. I'm pleased with this one. It is also nice because the arches fold down and the mat folds in half and stays there with snaps.

My daughter is one that likes to be held all the time, which doesn't allow much time for her mom to get anything done around the house! When she was almost 2 mos. old, I searched for an activity gym to occasionally entertain her and bought this one due to the great reviews for it. At first, she didn't like being out of my arms and fussed when I put her under the gym, but I persisted slowly, sitting with her on the floor and playing with the toys so she could see what they did. Now at almost 3 mos., she loves it! She will actually stay under it for 1-2 hours at a time, batting at and grasping for the toys. She even has "conversations" with them! Even though the Gymini Deluxe comes with 5 toys, I purchased several others singly in order to rotate them. But I definitely recommend the deluxe model over the regular model since it doesn't come with as many toys, and it ends up being more expensive to purchase additional ones individually. All in all, the Gymini is worth every penny!

4.0 out of 5 stars Portable and Fun, November 16, 2001

We received this toy as a shower gift and it has served us well. I have washed it several times & the color still looks decent though it has faded a little. It is easy to assemble and move around from room to room, or take to day care or grandparents' house.

As a newborn, my son was overwhelmed by this toy, so we used the playmat without the arches. At three months he enjoyed the hanging toys and would bat at them with his hands and feet. I like the flexibility of the arches - you can move around the included toys or add others very easily. The versatile, component nature of the toy also extends the age range for which it is appropriate. Even crawling babies can use it as a destination and resting spot. Our son especially loves the crinkly paper noise of one of the portholes.

Our most happy discovery with this toy was that it's great for the beach. It folds up and is light and easy to sling over your shoulder while toting all your gear. Once we got settled with our family blanket and beach umbrella, we assembled the playmat and topped the arches with an open weave afghan. Our son played in his little "tent" and stayed cool, out of the sun, and safe while we enjoyed our day at the beach. It was a great solution for all of us.

I highly recommend this toy. As a final note, our little musical seahorse does not play "Old MacDonald" as the copy above says. It's an unrecognizable but happy little tune and 8 months later I'd still listen to it over & over, which is quite an accomplishment for children's music.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Toy that can meet your baby's growing needs, August 30, 2001

I received the Tiny Love Gymini Deluxe (Noah's Ark Design) for my son as a shower gift. I brought out the set as soon as he reached two month old. At first, he was a little curious about the toy and did not know what to do. However, in no time, he started to pay attention to the different colors from the hanging little toys. By three months, he had already learned to use his tiny fists to hit the toys. Once he learned to use his fists to touch the toys, he soon started using his fingers to grab the toys to bring them forward to him. He is four month now and just learned to roll over, and he was excited to learned about the animals on the mat. This product really fits in the needs of each growing stage. It is also very easy to carry around because it can be folded and easy to clean (just put all the toys and the mat into the washing machine and then dry them up using the lowest heat in your dryer). In addition, you can keep adding different toys for the gym set as your baby grow older. Don't toss the old ones which he seems to lose interests because after a couple of weeks, take them out again, they are as good as new to babies. The only trick about this product is that only give your baby one or two hanging toys to play with each time so that your baby does not get too excited!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent for the newborn, March 11, 2000

When our son was born, this was one of the first toys we bought for him. It all started innocently enough with a black-red-white Tiny Love Spider we received as a shower gift. Our infant son seemed mesmerized by "mr. squiggles". Which meant his parents couldn't resist but had to run out and acquire the mat and toys (rainbow w/ ball, musical seahorse, blue whale, green octopus, turtle mirror) and all subsequent toys separately (rooster, worm, etc.)

It's an impressive looking mat with two mystery flaps for crinkling and honking, and sturdy arches. The first month, all he did was stare at the toys while on his back. Between the second and third months, he exercised his motor skills greatly, initially reaching towards the toys but missing the mark since the toys dangle from the arches. After some practice, he was tentatively touching them, and ultimately swiping at them vigorously. By four months, he began to grab and pull at the toys and in general, having a blast. There were times when he'd fall asleep after several minutes of energetic play. By five months, he'd had enough of being under the arches (a hint: rotate the toys, instead of displaying all of them like we did).

I'd say that we got our money's worth out of this Gymini. Every child is different in their growth, but I believe our son really jumpstarted his own motor skills. I see it in the way he handles other toys and many other items at 6 months. Also, the mat has a further use into toddlerhood: remove the arches, and you've got yourself a great wall hanging in your baby's room.

Five hurrahs for this toy!

This is the toy of the moment in my daughter's world - she'd spend her day there if I didn't bother her! At 3 months, she's beginning to reach out to explore the world around her. To her delight, she can kick and bop the toys attached to the arc over her head. She loves the simple song played by the seahorse, she can grab the octopus' legs and pull them to her mouth, she loves to gaze at her reflection in the mirror on the turtle's belly, and the rainbow and whale both rattle when hit! There are two really nifty things about it from a parental point of view: it is light and folds up easily for storage and travel (it fit perfectly in my suitcase, so we took it with us on vacation). Also, all of the toys are on plastic links, so the toys can be rotated to new positions or taken off completely and attached to some other device (perhaps her stroller when she's older).

From the first time I let my 2 month daughter play with this toy she loved it. She loves the mirror that hangs directly over her head. This is the first toy with a mirror that does not have to be manipulated for her to see herself. Because the arches have many places to hang toys, my daughter can kick at some toys while her hands are busy finding others. The arches unsnap so it is easy to place her on the mat and remove her. Plus you can leave the arches down and your child can play with the toys on her stomach. My parents tried it for a weekend and they even said that it was very user friendly, kept my daughter very occupied, and we all feel as though it is very educational. I have hung many of the Sassy rattles and other products using Sassy links on the hooks. My daughter squeals with delight and I don't feel as guilty when I leave her alone to play in it. One GREAT toy!
