Great for our preemie!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Knit Double Headrest - Ecru (Baby Product)
Several reviewers have mentioned that you shouldn't use this in carseats because of what carseat installation technicians have said. I agree, but have had several problems with my preemie fitting in his carseat. The headrest that came with the seat was too big for him (just under 5 pounds).Another reviewer mentioned rolled up towels or blankets. I was told that doing that could be more harmful to my son because they could become unrolled and he may suffocate or his tiny head could flop around. When we had the carseat installed, they recommended not to use this when he was average size (7 pounds), but we has a special case with our preemie and it was safer than nothing.

I purchased these because a couple of my baby's items did not have head rest/supports in them ( Eddie Bauer bouncer, Fisher Price Linkadoos swing). I almost spent more money on the elaborate ones, but I am glad I did not. This pack only costs about $11.00 for 2 (1 small, 1 large).
When my daughter was a newborn, she was very tiny. So for the longest time, I only used the small one. Once she hit 2 months, I started to use the large one. Now that she is 5 months, she really no longer needs them, but I don't regret buying this product at all. There are loops in these head rests, but I had no use for them. I believe that's for an infant carrier. The Eddie Bauer Latch 22 manchester print comes with one. Go ahead and peak at all my reviews. I tell it like it is, I don't favor a brand or product. I keep it factual. OVERALL: 5 stars

I received this at my baby shower and must say that it did it's job, except that it took me about a 1/2 hour to figure out how to put it on! There were no directions. Maybe it's just me, but boy did I have a hard time! lol....Once I got it right my sons head was nicely secured. I would recommend, but have patience when time to install....

NOT safe!!,

I just had our car seat professionally installed at our local police station, and I was told that these headrests are a hazard. The padding that rests between the baby and the seat prevents the seatbelts from being properly secured (extra wiggle room is lethal in a crash). A couple of rolled up recieving blankets will stablize the head just as well and doesn't interfere with the seatbelts.

Good value for this necessity!,

This headrest does offer a great value for the money. A few of my gripes are (1) the slots to attach this to the car seat should snap open so you do not have to unassemble your car seat straps to install ths properly, and (2) perhaps another fabric option would come in handy, since the two thick layers of cotton intended for support create a LOT of uncomfortable warmth for a summer newborn.
This is still a must have for those first few months to help support the little one's head. Great value and available in a variety of colors!

Never Used it in the Car,

This review is from: Knit Double Headrest - Ecru (Baby Product)
It never seemed to fit right. What I did use it for though, was in the bassinet, it kept my son from feeling so lost in the bassinet and more snuggled and secure... In the car seat, it was pretty much a waste

Wonderful for Fussy Babies,

This review is from: Knit Double Headrest - Ecru (Baby Product)
This product worked for me and my extremely fussy 2 month old baby who rather be all bent over than have a headrest. The infant seat that they gave me for my son did not com with a headrest. I had bought to others form different makers and he hated it. I even tried the rolled up blanket and he would move his head and arms until he was able to drop them. In my case I used the larger headrest for the car seat. He is still able to move his head which is what he likes with out letting him bend over into a ball.
If you have a fussy baby and you have tried everything try this and see if it works for you.

We got this to add to our bouncy seat while our baby was still small. It definitely makes me feel more comfortable about putting the little guy in it so his head doesn't bounce around. I do wish it was easier to attach the two headrests together so they wouldn't slip down. That's what kept it from being a 5. Otherwise, it definitely serves it's purpose!

Great for Newborn,

You need this for a newborn. The carseat is just too big and their heads just move side to side in it. This helps keep their head stationary and helps them stay asleep in the car while you are driving. I bought a cheaper one at a retail store and it does a great job. My son is four months and has grown out of it now, but it did help when he was smaller.

works well for newborns,

This double headrest really works well for newborns. You do have to use both headrest for it to work, but that's not a problem. When I first had my baby, I didn't use it, and now that I do, you can really tell the difference, I don't have to worry about her head bobbing all over.
