I love it and so does my 6 month old.

The "slices" have mirror on the inside, it makes a great clicky noise and a rattle in the middle.

For younger babies, it's easy to grasp, small, light enough to hold, and fun to look at.

My daughter has had this toy since she was three months old and at six months still loves it. It's easy to clutch and the nubbly outside make it fun to mouth. The picture doesn't do it justice. The colored ball pieces move so that there is always a small part open which reveals a littly guy inside who has a smiley face and rotates. The inside of each part of the ball has a mirror finish which makes it visually quite interesting. When the outide pieces move they make a nice clacking sound and there is a rattle in the guy inside. Stimulates senses of touch, hearing and vision as well as curiousity and problem solving.

I bought my son a light-up phone that makes hundreds of noises and this yesterday. He has hardly touched the phone and can't put this "low-fi" toy down. The "slices" have mirror on the inside, it makes a great clicky noise and a rattle in the middle. He can also grip the slices easily.

The spin ball is my son's all time favorite toy! The reflective surfaces inside and the moving pieces and colors, along with the textured outside have made this a favorite for months. Now that my son crawls, it's a rolling toy he can go after!

So many toys for babies are overstimulating - lights, loud noises, battery draining monstrosities. This ball is excellent. It has enough going on to keep our 11 month olds interest - moving parts, clacking of pieces, rattling, smiley faces, relections.. but no loud blaring noise, no seizure inducing lights.. nothing to drive Mom and Dad batty. I'm actually ordering a second one for my Brothers 3 month old. Definitely a great toy. It's about the size of a softball, big enough not to loose it, but small enough to be a toy you could throw in your diaper bag. Defintely would reccommend this as a simple, low maintence toy for a baby that's just exploring the world around them.

I purchased this for my son when he was 6 months old (3 months premature) because of the high developmentally benefited reviews. He began showing interest in it immediately and slowly worked his way up to manipulating it and playing with it with purpose. His developmental therapist even remarked how developmentally appropriate this toy is. She wanted to know where to get one to use while doing therapy with her other students. It is perfect for fine motor skills, raking, pinching etc. He is now 1 and he STILL carries "click clack" everywhere. It is his "travel toy". It is extremely durable. He drops and throws it and you can't even tell. He shows intense concentration when manipulating the "sliders", rolling the boy faced bell inside, and still attempts to chew and lick it. It also functions as a rattle. Another reviewer remarked that "it doesn't roll". It isn't meant to. If you want a rolling ball (your local store has them for a dollar) then this is not for you. However if you want an educational, highly entertaining, developmentally beneficial, extraordinary toy with purpose and educational value then this is for you. It washes so easily in hot soapy water and air dries. When we thought we had lost it, I ordered another one because he liked it so much. We later found it, and having two makes it even better! One lives in the car. I cannot stress how perfect this toy has been for my son. Even the "high risk", speech and auditory evaluators prefer to use it in their testing over their own selction of tools/toys. Everyone always wants to know where it came from and how to get it.

This toy showed up in the mail yesterday. My 7 month old son just loves it. It is a wonderful toy, with so many features to interest a baby. I found the description difficult to understand, so let me do my best to explain how it works. The crescent sections can freely rotate about the central post, and the inside of each section is a mirror. The sections tend to stack up against one another, leaving one open space (the width of several sections). Then the fun part is sliding the sections across the open space to the other side and hearing the loud "clack" as a section hits the other side of the stack..

Reasons why this toy is good:
- It's the right size for a baby to hold and/or bat at on the floor
- It has an interesting texture (bumpy)
- It's colorful
- It has things that rotate (the crescent section)
- It has things that spin (the central post)
- It is mirrored and reflective
- It has a little rattle inside
- The crescent shapes make a delightful "clack" as they slide into on another.

Love it.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is not BPA free.

The toy is really cool but one of the segments broke within 2 weeks of having it. I have 8 month babies and it is not like they were throwing this toy.

I know this toy has won a bunch of awards, though I don't get it. My son (7 months) didn't get it--examined it for a few seconds and threw it over his shoulder. Gave it to a friends 2 year old, she apparently didn't get it either and was quickly bored.
