Designed by psychologists and musicologists to enhance babies' cognitive and sensory development, the Symphony Light and Music mobile offers a combination of music and visual stimuli that helps develop sight and hearing and improve coordination between these two senses. Four different and equally fascinating movements encourage baby to focus on an object and track it with her eyes, helping strengthen eye muscles. The combination of repetitive circular motion and other alternating movements with objects rising, falling and turning around maintains baby's attention and active observation. Colorful liquids move in the center with or without light, adding an exciting visual element. Additionally, the 20 minutes of continuous music and nature sounds, including the choice of Bach, Mozart or Debussy selections, helps baby develop an appreciation of music. Aids Cognitive Development From his fifth month on, baby will become aware of objects disappearing and reappearing within his frame of vision, which helps develop a sense of object permanence. Calming and Soothing This unique mobile also gives you an extra opportunity for quality time with your baby. Before nap or bed time, hum or sing along with the mobile, jiggle the different animal toys or spin everything around to encourage baby to track the movement with her eyes. This special time together is sure to delight both you and your child. |

A Winner! Baby loves it!,
By LazyCats "LazyCats" (Muttontown, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tiny Love Symphony Light and Motion Mobile in Blue/Yellow (Toy)
This mobile is huge when assembled onto the crib. However, my baby girl absolutely loves it. She'll stare at it for 40+ minutes at times, which kind of defeats the purpose because it does not put her to sleep. But it's 40 minutes of FREE time for me so I'm not complaining. The mobile shuts off automatically after 20 minutes and she'll scream for another round of 20 minutes. The mobile turns counter-clockwise and each animal (monkey, lion and bunny) rotates as it slides down the tube. My baby will follow each animal from left to right as it makes its way across her vision path. She'll then turn her head to the left, ready to follow the next animal that comes down. The mobile also includes three round "soccer" balls and other flat objects (square, circle and star) that rises and falls. I don't think my daughter cares too much for these. She's more into the animals, which are brightly colored. The classical music is pleasant to hear. There is also a volume control. My only complaint is that the volume resets to loud if you turn the mobile off and then on again. If the mobile shuts off on its own and you hit one of the music buttons to turn it back on, then the volume stays at the same level it was before.
PROS: - Visually stimulating with rotating and rising/falling movement. - 20 minutes of nonstop music (most mobiles are 15 minutes). - Bright colors. - Cute animals. - Easy to assemble. - Hooks tightly onto crib. CONS: - No remote control. - Volume resets to loud each time you turn the mobile off and on. - You need to "pump" the volume control in order to lower the sound. You can't hold the button down. Would have been nice if there was a dial. - Night light is too dim. With no other lights turned on in the room, baby can hardly see the animals when the night light is on. - No feature for music only - the 3 modes (movement, lights & movement, light) include music. Overall, I highly recommend this mobile. This is a must have. It keeps my baby happy and gives me some free time. Additional information on the mobile can be obtained from the tinylove website.

I had the Tiny Love Mobile with my first-born (Tiny Love Geometric Shapes, which, unfortunately has been discontinued) and purchased the Light and Music mobile for my daughter. The bright colors, the calming classical music, and the cute animals keep my daughter intertained for lengthy time periods. The volume botton has been fixed with the new version (make sure the music box is yellow / white instead of green and the handles are blue instead of orange). We had to return the previous versoin as the volume reset was way too annoying - once the mobile shut off, it would reset itself to high volume. One thing that I would like to see is an option for music only ... right now, there is an option for rotation, rotation with light, light only and off. Nothing with just music ... Thus, I give this product a 4*

Well, the baby is very well entertained by this mobile!
Me....not so much! Problems I have had: - Volume doesn't work and so the only working setting is LOUD. I have tried pumping, etc...but no change. Tiny Love has said they will send me a new music box. - Took a while to assemble. Not as straight forward as one might think a mobile would be. - Doesn't tighten sufficiently and can topple over (but if baby is directly underneath it can't fall on him). This is a big mobile! But I do like that the pieces on the mobile move as the mobile goes around. I think this makes it more interesting, but he hasn't told me if he agrees!
