Folks, if the Amazon rating system went into negative stars, this one would rate a -10. And the sad thing is that, being a huge Tiny fan, I was willing to cut it alot of slack. I would have been willing to forgive it's being very badly written (it is just desperately bad) I would even have been willing to forgive it's being a hopelessly shallow 'expose' type of thing. But what I can't forgive are the gross inacuracies. The book is full of so many little falsehoods that I have to wonder if ANY of it is true. For instance, Plym at one point talks about Tiny always being late for rehersals, when in fact Tiny was a fanatic for puctuality- one of his favorite sayings was 'if you aren't on time, you aren't worth a dime'. In his interviews and phone messages he always mentioned what time it was- it was a mania with him. Another example: Plym has Tiny talking about the joys of French kissing, when in fact Tiny was a germ freak with a life long aversion to the idea French kissing- no saliva exchange for Tiny! No way!. Those are small examples, but the book is rife with things that just don't sound right. Biggest among the things that smell funny to me is Plym's claim to be Tiny's 'best friend'. Strange, then, that while the book talks about Tiny's death, it makes no mention of the near fatal heart attack that Tiny suffered just a few months before. I have seen all of Tiny's personal effects, including get well soon cards and records of those who called him at the hospital, and Plym did not contact him. Nor was Plym's name in any of Tiny's several address books. He was just a guy who was Tiny's manager for a while late in his career, with a poor memory of what Tiny was really like and a desire to make money off a book. Good Luck, Plym. This thing is the Turkey of the year. For any reader who hungers to know what Tiny was really like, get ahold of 'Tiny Tim' written by Harry Stein. Now THERE is a good book.

Mr. Plym's book is a huge disapointment for Tiny Tim fans. Those looking for graphic detail of Tiny's sex life and masturbatory habits will find plenty to chew on, but those looking for a deeper portrait of the man better look elsewhere. I am suprised that Mr. Plym knows so little about Tiny's life and music. Especially the music!!! Tiny was a living archive of American popular song but none of this seemed to rub off on Mr. Plym who shows little interest in mentioning any of this. BTW, Tiny Tim had many many managers and agents during the last 20 years of his life and everyone claimed to be the "best" friend. Tiny's memory deserves better than this petrified hunk of wood fiber.

How can you take a subject this interesting and turn it into this jumbled snooze-fest of a book? With friends like Mr. Plym, Mr. Tim didn't need any enemies.

This book is composed of false information poorly presented. Oh, much of it is sexual in nature, so if readers are looking for some bizarre, hot fantasy world about sex toys and bodily fluids, this would be your best buy!

However, if you are actually a fan of Mr. Tim, and want to read about the man and his music, a genuine human being who jokingly chased a shampoo girl around a hair salon because she was too shy to take a tip from him and insisted on paying $100 to each hairdresser who worked for an hour to get the tangles out of his hair then don't read this book.

It honestly hurts my heart to read this trash, and I don't know how it managed to find a publisher. If you knew Mr. Tim, this book won't seem like much more than a mean prank on someone no longer around to defend himself.

As a friend and a fan, defending him is the very least I can do.

Therefore, in my honest opinion, this book is a total waste of your time, your money, and the paper it is printed on.

Plodding, slow-moving and obviously a fabrication to anyone who knew anything about Tiny Tim. This is not even worth a glance at the public library.

This is a piece of garbage unless you want to read about a ego driven nobody named Plym. This book is more about Plym than Tiny Tim. Plym embodies all that is bad [vulgar, self centered and sleazy] in an show business personal manager. Just one look at his photo [of which he has included many in the book] will tell you more than you want to know.

It's is a testament to a loser ... Plym, not Tiny Tim, who deserves more than this book gave him. The 1976 book by Harry Stein is much better and worth reading. Buy that one. Don't waste your money on this. This one belongs on the bottom of the garbage heap.

I enjoyed this book immensely. This book about a "misfit" is so insightful, often hilarious and truly heartfelt. I couldn't put it down. What I loved about it was the story of a person who normally wouldn't even be on the public radar, but he manages to actually have a career, survive being made fun of, and turn it all around. It's quite a deep book.

I loved this book. Being very young when the whole Tiny Tim phenomenon was occurring this was all new for me. What a character. What fun. The book was very well written. Very warm and sincere. Th authors really brought the man to life in a way that made you shake you head in wonder, and love him all the same.

Tiny Tim and Mr. Plym is one of the best celebrity biographies I've ever read. The writer is gifted with being able to bring you inside the heart and soul of the man. The book is truly a great read -- really funny and really touching at the same time. I recommend this as a rare insight into one of the most mysterious creatures showbiz has ever created. Hope they make a movie out of it starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Reading this book, I learned all kinds of things about Tiny Tim that I never would have expected. Just when you think you've learned everything you could possibly learn about the man, Plym and Kooper reveal yet another surprising detail about this entertainment legend. I especially liked the warmth of the writing -- you can really get a sense of the strong, lifelong friendship between Tiny Tim and Mr. Plym. I thought the book was fun and interesting.
