Best portable fan for the money, January 29, 2006
This little fan really moves a lot of air to the point that I wish that it had two speed settings. It is also whisper quite and the blades are safe to touch. Don't be fooled by cheaper "mini fans" that don't work well and are usually of poor quality. This fan has an excellent quality build to it and felt very sturdy in the hand.
It is larger than due to the use of a D cell battery but the outside sleeve and clip is removeable which makes it much slimmer to hold. I haven't tested how long it will last on one D cell battery but with rechargeables, that shouldn't matter too much.
The fan part is adjustable and can be set at various angles with 7 "click" points.
The suction cup at the bottom is strong but I would not recommend it on vertical surfaces unless it is smooth like glass. Even there, it would stick for about 15 minutes before falling off.
I think you would be pleased with this fan.

VERY PLEASED, April 6, 2007
I've had this fan about a month now and it is a life-saver and really helps control those HOT FLASHES!!! It took me a few minutes to discover that the actual fan was sitting in a holder...once I got that figured out, it was a cinch to work with. And the blades definitely do not hurt if you misjudge where you are putting your hand. My only regret about the product is that it does not have an adapter so that it can be plugged in. The company could make millions marketing this for the "Over 50" woman.

Unimpressed, lackluster performance, did not live up to the other reviews, July 10, 2007
After reading the many positive reviews, I was very surprised with the product's performance once I got it. The breeze output was not very strong, had to hold it close to my face/body to feel much. The product's materials felt cheap, but then it was cheap, so you get what you pay for I suppose. Only plus is the size and the fan blades can't hurt you. But the suction cup is worthless. It does not suction onto any surface -- not even for a couple seconds. Oftentimes I think people who write negative reviews are just picky/finnicky buyers, but I am not that at all, and I really was not impressed with this item, and hope to save someone else from bothering with it.
I returned it and might try Sharper Image's one. While those reviews aren't very laudatory, I'm not putting much stock in people's reviews these days after my experience with this "Tiny Tornado."
