Book Description

July 25, 2006
Twenty college football players fool the coaching staff, the media, the fans, and everyone but themselves. The accomplishments of the Tiny Twenty will never be duplicated in football history. A twenty man college team completed a highly successful NCAA schedule against teams with forty and fifty man rosters and defeated them. No one expected the Tiny Twenty to win even one game. The football world will never see a team like this again.

About the Author

LOUIS DI BLASI is a student of the human condition, wielding the written craft to enrapture the mind much like an artist wields a brush. The pages are a blank canvas on which to draw from a talent heralded by many and matched only by an imagination that rises to the task. THE TINY TWENTY is the first in a series of recent pursuits, with work progressing quickly on the follow-up.

A varsity college football team of twenty young men successfully completed an N.C.A.A. schedule by winning seven of ten games. The Hofstra College "Tiny Twenty" faced and defeated opponents with forty and fifty man rosters; while at times fielding only 15, 16 or 17 men due to injuries. This historic event of the 1956 season has never been nor ever will be duplicated in the collegiate football world.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tiny Twenty Scores a Big Touchdown, January 4, 2007
By
T. Wine (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Tiny Twenty: A True Story (Paperback)
This is a true life account of a mid-tier college football team that defeated the odds and proved to the nay-sayers that "The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts." When the chips were down, they had only each other to rely on. Given the negative coverage of some of today's athletes in our society relating to drugs, crime, and the unwillingness to play hurt for the good of the team, this book portrays everything that is great about athletics. The accomplishments of this team will never be seen again and it is a testament to the character of 20 young men. Long live the Tiny Twenty!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Biased Review, January 9, 2007
This review is from: The Tiny Twenty: A True Story (Paperback)
I am grateful to Lou for writing this book. Chapter 23 is about my parents! So, this is a biased review. It is a great and true view of early 50s Football. The fact is that no Football player of today could or would play like the guys back in the 50s. None of them have the heart or talent. You may disagree, but you would be wrong. Please buy and read the book!
