I'm beginning to think Lewis Trondheim can't possibly do anything wrong. I'm a bit puzzled about the 9-12 reading level, as I find it somewhat morbid and extremely entertaining -- then again I'm an oversized kid, so I guess it makes sense. In any case the humour is pencil-sharp, accompanied by smooth and eye-pleasing art and an obvious but ridiculous story.

If you are like me, and own Tiny Tyrant, be warned that this is not a sequel but a reissue of that previous book in two volumes, this being the second. There is no new material, though the book is slightly larger.
The comic itself is very good. Not my favorite work by Lewis Trondheim, an author whose work worth searching out, as it's a bit cliche: the spoiled ruler who, in always getting his way, doesn't realize what he misses. While enjoyable and well done for the genre, it isn't breaking new ground. I agree with the previous reviewer in that the art and comedy style is very reminiscent of animation.
