Sax for Everyone,
By Joseph R Baker "Joseph R Baker" (Southeast, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tipbook Saxophone: The Complete Guide (Paperback)
Super-basic reference on the Saxophone for the beginner through professional. Well laid out; uses everyday language; covers it all. This book should be "Chapter One" of each and every Saxophone Method. A must for the beginning student and a quick reference for the professional, particularly one who is not fluent in "repair" language. Highly recommended.

This review is from: Tipbook Saxophone: The Complete Guide (Paperback)
An excellent source of general information about the four most common types of saxophones. The book covers a broad range of areas about saxophones, such as buying a sax, selecting accessories, practicing, etc. Being a tipbook, it presents the basics you need to know without a lot of text background detail. It answered many of the questions I've come up with but had no one to ask. The text format is short paragraphs of 2-4 sentences with many illustrations on each subject. The material is very easy to understand and apply. As a self taught student, I found the book very useful and was glad I ordered it. I was also quite pleased at the price.
