Product Description

Tipon Deluxe Cleaning Rod. Can't scratch, won't imbed. Carbon fiber Rods can be bent to an extreme degree and return to their original straightness. They are deluxe because the handle spins on 2 sets of ball bearings to smoothly follow the rifling while pushing and pulling. Shank-through construction allows reasonable hammer blows to the end of the Rod to clean a tight bore. State Size. Order Now! Tipon Deluxe 36" Cleaning Rod

Makes cleaning a gun easier, without worrying about scratching the barrel.

The rod spins smooth on the ball bearings and is more than strong enough to handle any bends you my apply.

I already had the Tipton cleaning rod for larger caliber rifles and it works well.

All the positives have been addressed by the other reviewers. I concur with all of their positive remarks.

I bought this after snapping one of the cheaper "screw-together" rods by applying too much force to it. This rod, on the other hand, will not break. I may or may not have tested its break-ability after a few beers :)

The only downside (if you can even call it that) is that this thing is long. You have to either hang it up on a hook or, what I do, is keep it in a rifle case.

After cleaning long guns with whatever I found in gun shops and big box stores, I broke down and spent a little more money for the Tipton rod this one is 27-45 caliber. It is "as advertised" smooth spinning and an extremely strong and flexible action. I would highly recommend buying this rod first, rather than working your way to this rod as I did.

Make sure you get one that is the minimum length for your rifles. The 36" rod is much too long for the rifles I use it on. It makes it unweildy and flexes and bows way too much and is a general pain in the butt. A 30" rod would have been much better for me. Other than that it is a good product...

A little steep on the price but definitely worth it. You get what you pay for. I use this to clean my air rifles, and clear pellet jams. The product does not scracth my LW barrels, is lightweight, and highly durable. Recommended.

Tipton rods are great quality, however, I bought this to clean a .22 and .243. On the .22, it fits but is too snug for my liking. Prefer something that provides a bit more clearance between the barrel and rod.

5 stars for the .243
2 stars for the .22

I own several Tipton Carbon Fiber cleaning rods as I believe there is nothing better. A word of caution at this point. Never try to use one on a larger caliber than what it was designed for unless you are very very careful. The .17 - .20 Caliber is extremely tiny and works fine in .17 caliber, however when I was cleaning a .204 I was too aggressive and snapped the rod and when that happens there are tiny tiny carbon strands poised to enter an arm or hand. I was lucky to say the least. I don't feel it was the fault of the rod but the man using it. I am now ordering one that is for .20 caliber only. It is also very small so care in cleaning still the order of the day. Had I been using a steel rod it would not have broke but it would have bent so bad that it couldn't be straightened. I have bent my share of steel rods including spring steel and they are never the same. Coated rods are the worst of the bunch as the coating peels off in no time.
Properly used, these rods will give years of excellent service. Harold

Used on a .223 it works out well. The rod is long enough for typical AR. Bearings are smooth and twists with the rifling. Nice ergonomic handle. Would recommend!

The cleaning rod does what it suppose to do and I have no complaints. I use it at the range to swipe the barrel of the .17 HMR after firing since it seems that accuracy becomes a problem when the barrel gets fouled, quite quickly. No assembly, just run a patch with cleaner lubricant down the barrel a couple of times and then its back to shooting. If anything at all, its handy. The downside is that it is rather long, but then for a single piece cleaning rod, that's what you get! I am completely satisfied and recommend it.
