Product Features

  • Designed for range and accuracy
  • Minimal trajectory eliminates the need to arch to barrel
  • Ideal barrel for thick brush and canopy play

Product Description

Description The Flatline Barrel System is the first production back spin barrel ever produced. The principle behind the system is Tippmann's newly designed slightly curved barrel, which applies centrifugal force to the ball, creating backspin. Not only does this system offer increased accuracy and distance but also offers flat trajectory for thick brush and canopy play. By minimizing trajectory of the ball and increasing accuracy, you increase the amount of targets which would ordinarily be out of range. The Flatline Barrel System adds 100 feet of flat trajectory GUARANTEED. This auction is for one flatline barrel for a Tippmann A5 marker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get those people that just can't get you!, October 2, 2003
The flatline barrel for the A-5, in addition to looking like a silenced MP-5, really does work as advertised. I regularly take people out that believe themselves out of range, because they know that I am out of range of their guns. While the flatline is quite loud (its not ported), the very loudness can freak people out - espcially when you have an RT and are shooting bursts or full auto at them.

The only two items to worry about are paintball size -- you get better performance from slightly bigger balls, which can be a problem if you're in a "field paint only" situation and get stuck with lousy balls -- although they still work, you lose some accuracy at greater ranges. The second is cleaning the barrel. Between the cyclone system and not being able to easily take off the barrel, using a squeegie on this barrel can be a chore. Just make sure you are beind a tree and out of range when you're trying to do it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Increased range !, February 20, 2005
The Flatline barrel lives up to it's claim of increasing range, no other barrel system can come close to matching the distance. However, the flatline does have some quirks. First, high quality, small diameter paint must be used for the barrel to work best, as a gap between the paintball and the barrel is needed to create the backspin. The barrel must be cleaned often for best performance, as the gelatin from the paintball will build up in the barrel which decreases the amount of backspin, thus decreasing range. The barrel accuracy is also affected by things such as high wind, moisture in the air, and the angle the barrel is held. If the marker is tip sideways at an angle, the paintball will hook, so with practice you can actually get your balls to hook around bunkers at a certain range, which really surprises your opponents. It makes a great addition to your A-5.

2.0 out of 5 stars I don't understand how anyone likes this barrel, June 5, 2011

Flatline Barrel

Ok. I don't understand why people speak so highly of this barrel. Yes you get incredible range, but its so damn inaccurate. The range doesn't make up for the inaccuracy in the slightest. People say the Flatline is great for Woodsball. False it is even worse in the woods because of the trees. At first I thought it was my A5 and I might have messed something up when installing my response trigger. Nope not the case. When I decided to get a brand new A5 ( the one described above) the Flatline disappointed yet again. I even spoke to a few players that were also using the Flatline and they all agreed that the Flatline is nothing but a disappointment. I have no idea why people say the Flatline is so great? I was playing yesterday at my local field and people with $130-$175(for example they were shooting Tippmann Alpha Black Tactical Markers.) were out shooting me. It is frustrating!!!!!!!

In conclusion I beg you not to get the Flatline. I am personally looking into the Lapco Snapshot I head awesome things.
Hope this helps :)
