Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tippmann A5 A-5 RIS Battle Shroud for FLATLINE BARREL (Misc.)
First impressions was that it was well made.
Installation was straightfoward and simple Remove stock shroud and install this one. After playing for about 2 hours I went back to my truck and put my gun down. I was doing something else and when I looked back the entire top rail had fallen off with my open sight on it, thankfully it happened right there in my truck. It looked like the screws holding the rail on had just backed out. I needed to pull the barrell to squeegee it out and as I was removing it the bottom rail popped off that had been securing my foregrip. At a glance it looks like top rail would benefit from some locktite. However, after having the bottom rail pop off with about 5 lbs of pressure I think that the machined holes are a poor fit for the screws. I havent decided as to wheter I am going to epoxy them in place and hope I never break a rail or if I'll drill out the holes and bolt the rails in place. I know it will be a pain to reach the center ones. At a minimum if your considering this I would pull each machine screw out one at a time and locktite them back in place before using it. No guarantees this will solve the problem but I think it would. If you let them back out and then pull free you'll end up where I am with wrecked threads and a more complicated situation. Other then that I loved it until it broke. An inexepensive alternative to buying a new flatline with a battleshroud.

A reason this is the cheapest A5 shroud out there...,
This review is from: Tippmann A5 A-5 RIS Battle Shroud for FLATLINE BARREL (Misc.)
Listen well to the previous reviewer. The plastic rails on this shroud are held together by 4 screws that seem to come off VERY easily. I immediately unscrewed all the rails off my shroud when i received it. I will be probably try loctite on the screws when i go to re-install the wanted rails. The depth of the threading for the screws onto the shroud can only be as thick as the shroud itself, perhaps that's why the rails can't really handle heavy abuse/attachments. The trade off is that this shroud is light and much less expensive than most of the other RIS shrouds out there.
With only my first impressions, i am happy with this purchase. With the rails removed, I believe it is lighter and better looking than the stock shroud. I'll update if the rails fail after i put them back on.
