16" Tippmann 98 Custom M4 Assault Sniper Barrel

Like a previous review I really like the barrel but did find it rather difficult to get it to stay on and be lined up perfectly with the notch (sight). I found his instructions confusing so I will take my shot at it.

1. Take the barrel off if you have it on already.
2. unscrew the tip of the barrel head (I didn't know the small piece at the end of the barrel screwed off in the first place)
3. Use allan key to unscrew the notch (sight) of the barrel. Slide it off the barrel
4. Unscrew the body of the barrel with allan keys (3 screws). Slide the body off of the barrel including the metal rod attached to it. (You should do all these steps after playing to clean the barrel correctly).
5. Now screw on the now normal looking barrel onto your Tippman. (Make sure it's on tight)
6. Put the body of the barrel on and line it up
7. Slide in the metal rod until there is only about an inch left sticking outside of the body
8. Tighten the body with the allan key (3 screws)
9. Slide the notch on and slide it into the metal rod
10. Line up the notch perfectly and then screw it in with your allan key
11. Finally, screw on the tip of the barrel and your all set. Your barrel won't seem lose anymore.

ok first of all this barrel came lightning quick, i ordered it on a saturday at 12:30 a.m. and it was delivered on monday. when i put the barrel on my gun it almost lined up perfectly but when i shot it i was a little disappointed... everyone was raving about how much further the ball travels and how straight they travel but my shots kept dropping...not even hitting the target from 20 yards...then soon after a few more shots, i was out of air. got the tank refilled and BAM! i was smokin the targets i had set up from 30-35 yards away. even further if i had the room, great awesome barrel, just dont use cheap paintballs, i ran out of my good ones so i was in a hurry and got cheap-o's and woooo boy they didnt fly straight after that...3 out of 10 would hit the target while the rest would go every which direction but at the target. great barrel at a cheap price!!

at first this barrel seemed like a waste of money because i just couldn't figure out why in the hell it wasn't staying on. but after a day or two of searching i out how to put it on so for anyone interested in this her you go.

screw the barrel in and then put the metal "cap" on the end and but the sight into the little holes and see where the sight lines up if it isn't then take off the cap and sight and pull down on the circle thing at the bottom of the barrel and pull apart the barrel shroud. there is square piece with a hole in it loosen that with an allan key and move it so that when you put the barrel shroud back the "cap" and the sight it lines up. so you tight that up then put the shroud back on then you put the cap on then put the sight in the two little holes on the cap then get the allan key and underneath the sight by the metal sling part there is another hole to tight that up against the barrel.

hope that helped now onto the product the barrel is pretty good i upped my velocity a little bit and it was pretty dead on so i like this barrel a lot and it gives you the look and feel of a m4.

the reason this is only getting 4 stars is the fact there is no instructions in the packaging but it is really cheap these can be $70 plus in stores and dorosports ships fast

I got my barrel pretty quickly. I put it on my gun and the sight didn't line up. Tools came with it but not directions, although it was pretty easy to figure out how to fix it. After having the sight lined up I went out side to see the accuracy of this thing, it wasn't very good but it wasn't bad at the same time. The sight is a little to high so I cant see the paintball when I shoot it but I can find my way around it. Over all I like it, it looks awesome while at the same time it gives you better accuracy and its not full metal so its lighter.

its a great addition to your alpha black it really gives the marker that "Tacti-cool" look overall i think its ok I just wish they would make this in a 14" option...

Great barrell at an even better price!!! This barrell would easily be 70-100 bucks at any retail store (which i have seen). Great features, great performance and style. This is a great upgrade to any tippmann user. The only drawback is that the screws do tend to loosen after a few rounds of paintballing, (always have the allen wrench with you). Would definitely recommend some loctite for the screws which would fix the loosening issue. As far as no directions for the barrell, just look for the holes for the allen wrench and loosen the screws to make an exact match with your sights on the paintball gun itself. Also, get some more "O" rings for the barrell. I used this barrell when it was 100 degrees outside and halfway through the day it started to vear with paintballs. I let the paintball gun 'cooldown' and it started to shoot perfect again, and noticed it was an o-ring issue. I use co-2 for the time being and wouldn't recommend a longer barrell than this 16 inch barrell, if you use a longer barrell you will not get the performance that you would expect. Would recommend upgrading to nitro or compressed air to get the full affect of the barrell or even upgrading the barrell even further.

I bought this barrel for my Bravo One because I wanted a longer barrel, that kept the Mil-Sim look and that didn't cost too much! This barrel gave me more range and accuracy, it was exactly what I wanted for just about 35$. It was super easy to install but DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN because it's a bit fragile!

I bought this barrel with the expectation that it will it fit a Tippmann 98 pro ACT. It does not unless you have a threaded adapter that allows for the barrel to fit (Which I luckily did -- Extreme Rage to the rescue). Once that hurdle was fixed I fixed my sights on adjusting. It takes a little time seeing as there is no instructions to properly fit it to the gun. However after all those hurdles were dealt with and it had a final coat of paint too look the part it is a very sexy barrel.

It was a good buy even though I had some issues.

But be forewarned if you expect this to fit a Tippmann 98 it will not unless you have the adapter.

I really like the look of the product. i did have to do some adjusting to make it fit right. when i first screwed it on to my tippman it fit crooked so i had to take an allen wrench to loosen the sight and twist it so it looked right. I didnt really like all the plastic on it but it is sturdy and looks great so its a good product. improved accuracy a little.

hey guys ive read just about all your reviews and i just want to say it was shipped really fast and deliverd on a saturday amazing, anyways my alpha black looks like a real m4 no joke it makes all the difference i found it very easy to put on only ive herd that the screws dig into the barrel and can come loose mine is very firm and doesnt move i hope it stays like that, only one problem at the moment i shot some rounds out of it and the barrel came loose ??? im like what the ???? so i screwd it on tight again and if it does that again i will put lock tight on it i dont care if it doesnt come off again i really like it, more accurate 100 times better than the alpha black stock its made by rap 4 also, wich is a good name, its used by law enforcement and the army as training tools for combat simulation. thank you i will post a youtube video on my alpha black in the future under {alpha rap 4}
