This thing is cool, a speedy hopper that can run without batteries- thats what got me to buy it.
The instructions suck, I ruined a valve and a gas line part before realizing how to do it. Thats the problem with Tippmann- their instructions are vague and give no detail on how to accomplish the tasks.
Back to the cyclone, after the work was done and it was installed it evaluated it it based on the appearance. The hopper is very well designed, it fits a pod perfectly and the system's placement on the gun couldn't be better. It still enables you to access your sights and doesn't stick up (as many electronic halos and eggys do), The thing makes your gun look bad a#%, (like an a5). -with other modifications to the gun, I prefer mine over an a5 any day.
The cyclone doesn't run on batteries (yes!), one less thing for you to worry about when you step onto the field.
All in all, the cyclone provides excellent speed, great efficiency, sweet design, and a crap instruction manuel.- Buy it, but if your not a do-it-yourself person (like me), than have someone experienced install it!

This is a great upgrade. Once installed, it worked great! It was a bit of a hassle to install, mostly due to the fact that you have to replace the power tube around the valve. Realigning the valve in the new power tube takes some patience. I would recommend using some teflon tape when re-attaching the gas line to the valve to avoid leaks. Other than that its Da Bomb. Remember that if you have a response trigger, you need an adaptor kit so that you can have both upgrades working. It's around $20.

I am very satisfied with this hopper upgrade for my 98 Custom Pro. The gravity hopper it came with just could not keep up, or maybe it was bad paint that didn't like to feed properly, half the time I was pulling the trigger I got nothing but air, but after getting the Cyclone system, no ptoblems whatsoever. Easy to install, price was competitive with other hopper upgrades, and it looks very cool. The only downside is that it only works on this marker, so when I upgrade to another marker, this hopper stays on the Tippmann... oh well... no regrets here despite that.

The loader is great but if you have an alpha black, the power valve most likely needs to be swapped for it to operate. Tippmann will send one to you free of charge but it'll be a week long wait. The number to call is 1-800-533-4831. Call when you order the loader and they might arrive at the same time.

i have read reviews about this item people saying that it uses extra gas. that is wrong!!! before i installed it i got 550 rounds off a 48 cbi 3000 psi tank. after i installed it i got 528 rounds but i was under 3000 psi. with this item i did not have one miss fire. i have only broken 1 round out of 2000 rounds. i use this on my tippmann 98 custom ps. this is the best thing ever

this feeder works better than any other hopper system that i've use electronic or non electric works even better with double trigger and response trigger

I shot my buddies A5 with a cyclone feed and I was immediately hooked. The system force feeds paint into the marker pneumatically, so there is no need for batteries or hopper shaking. Some people have experienced broken paint and upgraded to the soft flippers, but so far I haven't had any trouble. There is also a push button on the back to fix a misfire. Installation is a breeze if you have a newer 98C platinum edition. All you have to do is snap it on and screw in the air line. This is probably the best upgrade I have ever bought for my 98C and will highly recommend it.

No problems at all with the cyclone. It's perfect and works with my 98 custom pro in every way. I love it, you won't be disappointed. Easy installment too.

before i bought this upgrade my tippmann 98 custom was chopping balls like crazy. i normally use cheap paint like diablo recon or visible impact and i was having a lot of breakage so i decided to try and put this on and see iff it would help. I think about anyone can install this modification if they put their minds to it. But if you have an older 98 custom than you will need to get a new power tube. because the one that it is equipped with stock does not have the threads to screw in the air coupler. DON'T BUY ONE......, just call the tippmann phone number found on their website and they will send you one free of charge. No matter how old your gun is tippmanns customer service will always be grade A. it takes about 20 min to install unless you need to change the power tube then it takes about 40 min. P.S. DONT over tighten the air coupler or it will strip out the plastic threads on the power tube. Good luck i hope my review helped you out.
