Mean with maximum firepower, the high-performance Tippmann A-5 Stealth paintball marker is for the player who likes to shoot from long distances and use sniper-like tactics. It features the Flatline Barrel System, one of the farthest shooting barrels available. It's designed for range and accuracy while eliminating the need to arch your shot and creates backspin for level, accurate shots. and creates backspin for level, accurate shots. It also features Tippmann's patented Cyclone Feed System, which force-feeds paintballs from the hopper into the chamber. The faster you shoot, the faster the Tippmann A-5 feeds paintballs--15 trigger pulls a second fires 15 balls per second.

The A-5 is fully customizable to enhance performance, and can be field-stripped and reassembled in under 60 seconds with no tools. It features an all-aluminum die-cast receiver for durability and a new, more durable black paint finish. The front cocking knob allows for a fully enclosed receiver. Ball-breaks in the hopper are virtually unheard of, and misfires due to misfeeds are equally rare. It's fully compatible with either CO2, compressed air, or nitrogen. Other features include a 200 round wide mouth hopper, 8.5-inch stone-honed barrel, and .68 caliber receiver with open bolt blow back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flatline is great, don't listen to nay-sayers, August 4, 2006
This review is from: TIPPMANN A-5 Stealth Marker (Sports)
Look, I got the a-5, and then bought the stock and flatline seperately so I've been able to see what it does with out the flatline barrel. The only reason the flatline would be inaccurate is poor quality paint, or it was installed incorectly. This marker is a great deal. Completely reliable. I've never had a chopped ball, and only had one misfeed (and that was because I jammed the hopper full of paint, but once I cycled the cyclone feeder, by just pressing a button, I was putting paint down range again...took about 2 seconds)
I've used the response trigger, and fell in love with that too. The only thing is if you don't have it adjusted to your trigger pull, it will stop firing full-auto. Once you get that dialed it, it works flawlessly. Just make sure you are using N2 or compressed air tanks if it's cold out. This is because the small excess gas lines that operator the reponse trigger and the cyclone feeding system can freeze up if the weather is a little cold. I've only heard of this though, and have never had a problem, even with CO2 tanks.
This marker is a decent size with the flatline and buttstock, so don't expect to do that great in speedball (as gun hits count), but in scenario games, it's a formidable weapon. I love this marker and have consistently hit targets when I am out of their range. Once you get good with a "reflexive fire" routine, targets upto 50 yards will get painted 8 of 10 times and at least 6 out of ten from farther off (up to about 70-80 yards)
It's worth the money, trust me.

5.0 out of 5 stars never a broken ball, July 24, 2007

This review is from: TIPPMANN A-5 Stealth Marker (Sports)
I bought this item a year ago after I had bought the spider pilot acs. The acs was a special bolt that was supposed to keep from breaking paintballs. After only a few rounds it had chopped a ball and my day became miserable.. I played several more times with the same problems. I gave up after the store I bought it at said,"it just happens." The tippmann a-5 has a special loading system that works like clockwork feeding the ball into the reciever at just the right time never allowing a ball to break. I have played paintball countless times and used thousands of rounds and never had a ball break. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
The flatline barrel really does put distance on the paintballs. I enjoy standing back further than other markers can reach and taking out the opposing team.
One thing to remember when purchasing the stealth kit is that the CO2 tank is only available through the umbilacle cord so you need to have a pack to carry the tank around, but this makes for a lighter marker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very reliable, March 16, 2007
This review is from: TIPPMANN A-5 Stealth Marker (Sports)
I am pleased with my purchase of the Tippmann A-5 kit, which comes with a flatline barrel, remote air line, and adjustable stock in addition to the A-5 itself. For my needs, this kit was less expensive than purchasing the flatline and other upgrades separately.

I removed the front grip and used a 16oz tank mounted vertically where the remote line attaches instead of using the remote. This unbalances the gun, but I still seem to mark a few people each round anyways :).

The gun does not break paint as long as the velocity is below 300 fps. Checking the velocity can be difficult because this particular flatline is somewhat "fat", but this is a minor inconvenience.

Read the many other reviews of the A-5 elsewhere on the web by more experienced paintball players for comparisons to other guns.
