5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Accurate!
To start off with, I also found the Red Dot Scope totally useless. The only way you can look thru it is if you fold the stock out of the way. Otherwise, this is a great gun! The marker is extremely accurate anywhere from close to mid-range and still remains accurate at long distance. The gun offers a good deal of customizability as well. I plan on adding a folding...

First things first the base Project Salvo is a good marker, but the sniper package from Duro was not thought through very well. The first thing I noticed is that you can not see throuh the red dot sight while waring a paintball mask. The red dot sight is only a ten NC Star sight. Duro lost my order, I knew somthing was not right because I did not have a tracking number. I had to call them they said they had shipped it but they were not able to give me a tracking number. They said that they would send me anthother one, but they were out of the barrels that they normaly send with the gun. They asked if they could switch the barrel with one made by CMI,I reluctantly agreed. Three days later recieved my pacage. The CMI Barrel was defectiive, it had burrs incside the barrel that would have more than likely shredded paintballs. I called them agian they agreed to reiburse me for shipping. I sent the barrel back by this time they had the right barrel in. This time they sent a J&J ceramic barrel, good barrel but its not the one in the picture. The one in the picture looks like Smart Parts sniper barrel. I would have sent the whole mess back but tired of messing around. The US Army project Salvo base gun is fun marker it feel alot like an AR and it works pretty good. The one thing Idid not like is how the front hand gaurd is fastened to the gun, itis only held on buy one srew and rest on the factory barrel. With the factory barrel it nice and tight but with aftermarket barrels it is loose and wably. I fixed this problem buy carfuly raping the J&J barrel with black electrical tape making it the same diameter as the factory barrel where it rides on the hand gaurd. If you are careful it looks fine and nobody willever now. A rubber o-ring might work as well. You can get the Base gun for about $150, and the J&J barrel for about $35. The red dot sight is not worth it so you much better of buy the base gun and picking out the barrel you want. As for mountig a red dot you will need an exention rale to raise the sight and offset either for your hopper or your sight

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Accurate!, March 7, 2010

To start off with, I also found the Red Dot Scope totally useless. The only way you can look thru it is if you fold the stock out of the way. Otherwise, this is a great gun! The marker is extremely accurate anywhere from close to mid-range and still remains accurate at long distance. The gun offers a good deal of customizability as well. I plan on adding a folding foregrip Ambidextrous Foldable Tactical Foregrip- Black and laser to the gun to improve target acquisition. The gun looks awesome and you will get a lot of looks and compliments from other players, assuming you care, lol.
**ADT'L NOTES**
I've found that during play the 20" Barrel that comes with this gun will start coming loose, unscrewing itself, due to the fact that it doesn't sit perfectly center in the shroud. I fixed this issue with painter's tape and gorrila tape. First I took painter's tape and carefully wrapped it around the section of the barrel that sticks out of shroud so that I would know exactly were the shroud ends. I then carefully did the same with the gorrila tape Gorilla Tape 2-Inch by 35-Yard Tape Roll, insuring to keep it wrapped exactly on itself so that it wouldn't look messy or tacky, and made that section of the barrel the same width as the inside of the shroud. I used gorilla tape instead of duct tape because gorilla tape is black on the outside and waterproof.

4.0 out of 5 stars Project Salvo sniper package, September 12, 2010
This review is from: Tippmann US Army Project Salvo 20" Sniper Set + Red Dot + Sling (Misc.)
I love this gun! I don't have to mention how awesome it looks, but I will because it is the coolest looking marker I've seen! I got a ton of compliments when I went to my local field to play and had a few great shots to back them up.

First off I'm going to get the negative aspects out of the way. I had two problems with this marker, one the red dot is worthless when you are wearing a mask ( you can't position your face to look through it) but I think I can fix that by getting something to offset it to the side a bit more. The other is the time it takes to clean it properly, this gun has so many nooks and crannies for paint to get into it can take awhile to get it all. Plus the length makes it a bit harder to drop into cover, though they seemed to have fixed this my adding a sling to the package.

Other than that the only thing that annoyed me was that I could shoot farther than I could see! Next investment will definitely be goggles that don't fog.

Now that the unpleasant part is over with... I'm no speedball pro but I was shooting as fast as I could and this gun never chopped paint or was unable to keep up with me. Every shot went as straight as it could and I was able to pull off two perfect one shot "kills" out of a tower! Talk about exciting, the first one was on some guy hiding in cover in front of the tower. I sneaked up the stairs of the tower, waited for him to pop of a few shots and sit back down into his hiding spot. I waited till he relaxed a bit then shot him right on the top of the head! His reaction was priceless, let me just say it was a good thing no little kids were around at the time :)

I would definitely suggest this marker to those looking for an accurate and realistic gun!
