More About the Author

Doris-Maria Heilmann has more than 30 years experience in writing, (German and English) publishing and book marketing (read also: http://about.me/ebookPR). Writing essays was what she liked most in school: "A chocolate bar was the first prize in an essay writing contest that I won when I was in grade 4 back in Europe. This was 50 years ago and I barely remember the exact topic, but it had something to do with fire, as I received the prize from a huge guy in full firefighter regalia."

Doris started her writing and teaching career in the field of commercial aviation and pilot training. She published not only several books, but also her own flight and travel magazine "USA BY AIR", which was a great success.

Magazine and Book Publisher
She learned a lot in this role during these years as a magazine publisher-editor-art-director-marketing-manager and later started also to self-publish (in German-speaking countries), mostly technical and non-fiction books in the world of aviation.

E-Publishing and Book Marketing
At Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada, she studied e-publishing and marketing, including web and graphic design, professional photography, writing for the web, editing, investigative journalism, social media and e-marketing. As publishing evolves at a fast pace, Doris studies constantly the digital and print publishing market, and writes about news in these fields.

Seminars / Workshops / Public Speaking
Her seminars and workshops (on- and offline, see: http://111Publishing.com/seminars) and her consulting service cover among others: Publishing strategies, publishing contracts, print and digital production, pre-publishing, book design, establishing an author platform and brand, book marketing and promotional campaigns, social media as well as book and e-book distribution.

I am a bestselling author on Amazon and I am often asked how to market books by new authors. Amazon sold over 30,000 of my eBooks in August 2012 alone.

I began liking Ms. Doris Heilmann because of her quality Tweets. Ms. Heilmann consistently offered valuable resources, most of them "free" for aspiring writers. Because of that I purchased this book on Kindle to see if it also had the kind of information to help aspiring writers that come to me. I could then offer some help, and also suggest Heilmann's book if true.

I was only 20% through her book when I was sure it is full of truly helpful information, not only for aspiring authors, but for established ones like myself. It is one thing to write a novel but another thing to generate sales. Authors like me are very artistic and not really into being a "sales person." But as Doris teaches this is like baking the world's greatest cake and never having it leave the kitchen.

Now I am going through her book a second time just to make notes and do projects she recommends. Her book offers many high quality live hyperlinks so a participant may never truly finish the book.

The only downside I see, is that the book is way under priced. This may give potential buyers the wrong idea of the actual value. The truth is she is very gifted at helping others and her Kindle book is evidence of that. Her book is a bargain at the price I bought it at. I feel she also needs to write more of them.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !

The idea of creating a Video Trailer for your book is to show a compelling reason why a reader should read your book. Sometimes words in page are not enough. The author provides terrific information with website links to tools and other ways to make a video yourself. There are great ideas about sharing your video and making it come up in search results. This information is good to have, even if the author just wants to promote the book trailer. The tips range from what contents belongs in a book trailer, promoting it as well as how the beginner might start making a trailer. So add a book trailer to the reviews, blog, tweets and other elements that help to draw an audience for your book. This book will help set you in the right direction.

Doris is such a good teacher, I have not been able to put this Kindle book down. One reason is because she offers so many "live" links to free stuff I am in those site browsing and enhancing my brand - even at 17% read. I have read the entire book, and I am re-reading it and marking notes now.

Her book does so much more than what the title suggests, I wonder if it is the best title. The price is almost an insult because each and every chapter is worth the $2.99 I think I paid for the entire eBook.

The author sincerely wants you to succeed and I am applying many concepts to my web sites, blogs and my own personal branding. Her book does not try to up sell other services as many similar books, at least not overtly, I do not understand how she makes her money and I doubt she even does. Very obvious to me the author just loves helping other aspiring authors and does a great job at that.

I am buying anything else I see this author ever offers on Kindle. Now I have to go because I have to get back to the book! Christmas is a few days away and this book has made my holidays so inspiring!

I found this book will inspire you to use video / book trailers for (book) promotions, whether you're new to video or a seasoned pro, as it shows you how easy it is to promote your book trailer.

This comprehensive guide breaks down the video creating process into manageable bites so it doesn't feel so overwhelming - even so the sheer number of links to tutorials and websites could give you the impression. Planing your video, gathering the necessary software, getting free music and images as well as the complete video-creating process are explained. Links to tutorials were extremely helpful for me as was the important video-marketing process.

This how-to book will give you the tools you need to promote and market your videos and at the same time to make money selling your books. It gives not only authors, but every small business valuable tips how video can be used to market products and services.

It answered such important questions as "Where do I get started with video?", "How can I produce a video that delivers compelling reasons to buy my book?", "Which software and hardware tools will work best for me?", and "Where are all these free video sharing sites to submit my video to, in order for it to go viral?"

111 Tips on Publishing a Book Trailer is an excellent guide book full of concrete information and useful links for self-publishers on the Internet. With tremendous energy and contagious enthusiasm, Doris Maria Heilmann sticks to her theme and explores every corner of what you need to know. She poses the questions you will face and goes to all the available sources to find the answers. Her research is careful and exhaustive, providing short explanations as well as links. You can apply her advice beyond the subject of book trailers; for example, I find the section on finding free photos very helpful. The book is divided into four chapters with sub headings, making it easy to find exactly what you need to know.
Anyone self-publishing material on the Internet will want to have a copy of this book and also buy Heilmann's forthcoming guides on related subjects as they appear. It is no exaggeration to say this book is just the beginning of a project that will be known as the encyclopedia of the e-book self-publishing world. In my opinion, a good editing job is needed to remove some awkward choices of words and phrasing. These faults are easily corrected and when this is done it will be a five-star book.
