Product Description

Keeping tabs on your tire pressure has never been easier. These 4 screw-on valve caps replace your car's existing caps with just a twist—no tools are required. Not only do they give you the PSI reading for each tire, they also turn green when your tires are at normal pressure levels. When the green fades to red, it's time to pump some air. Each of the black plastic cylinders featuresa plastic dome that gives the PSI readout, and a color indicator around the base. Imported. 1.25Hx5" dia.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the best design, January 11, 2007

I tried these on two different cars and several tires leaked down over a couple of weeks. My first suspicion was these valve caps which turned out to be correct after I sprayed a mixture of soap and water on the caps. There was a very slow leak around the cap seals.

Sorry, but this product is a terrible idea because it permanently opens your valves. That's just asking for a leak to occur due to leaking seals, sun-cracked valve housing, etc.

The in-tire pressure system may be expensive but at least it doesn't cause a leak in your tires.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working well for over two months, September 14, 2009

I was a little weary of buying these kind of pressure caps, particularly due to the bad experiences which other reviewers have discussed, but I bought a set to try them out anyway. I'm happy with them with over two months of driving with them on. I have checked the pressure with my normal gauge 3-4 times since they've been on, and it's always above 32 psi (as further indicated by the green marker in the cap). Overall, I would recommend trying these out - they really do reassure you that you are driving with the safe amount of air in the tires with just a glance (which is really nice when you obsessively check the pressure).
By the way, I only swapped one cap a week, in order to assess each cap and make sure that they weren't causing leaks (in addition to spraying soapy water on the valve stem and cap to see if air was leaking, before and after installation).

1.0 out of 5 stars Same leakage problem, November 15, 2007
This review is from: Tire Pressure Valve Caps - Set of 4 (32 lb.)
I had the same leakage problem as Micah on two different sets. In both situations only one of the four caps had significant leakage, but in both cases it was bad enough to drop 10 psi in a week.
