I can't imagine a better way to teach children than to teach them in this fun delightful way. I particularly enjoyed the poetic format with its rhythm and rhyme. It was truly fun to read and right up there equal in entertainment with some of the Dr. Seuss books. I hope we will see more of the same from Dicy McCullough.

Dicy McCullough has three adorable books, but "Tired of MY Bath" is by far my favorite. I happen to have a child that is still young enough to hate taking baths and brushing her teeth just like John Allen. She constantly begs to postpone bathing time, but once she is in the shower or tub she doesn't want to get out. I think this rhyming verse of how John Allen decides mom knows best about bathing is a perfect read for all you parents with reluctant bathers of your own!

"Read it again, read it again, read it again!" This is what my first graders say when I read any of Dicy McCullough's books. The children love that the stories are based on the author's grandchild's life. The students in my class can relate to the adventures of the characters in the book. They just can't get enough of my reading them aloud to them, and I can't either! Highly recommend them to parents and teachers alike!

When my grandsons were younger, their response to my telling them they had to take a bath was "Why?" This book would have been helpful then! The rhyming format should appeal to youngsters learning to read, and the storyline is certainly something every little boy (and girl) has thought of at least once. "Tired of My bath" is a very good book and one children should enjoy for a long time to come.Angels Unaware

I just wanted to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to read your book. I absolutely loved the colors and pictures that you chose to go along with the text; it makes reading a book that much more enjoyable! Being a teacher, I would love to share this book with my class and have them relate their life to the text. Overall, it was a great book and I was very pleased with the text/picture relation!

LOVED this book! It's the perfect length for a bedtime read, and teaches several wonderful lessons at the same time (it's nice to end the story right before your child goes to sleep with a "Mom is right" lesson, don't you think?)
The pictures were amazing as well---so colorful and cute!
Can't wait to read Ms. McCullough's next one, "Tired of School"---keep up the great work, Dicy, you're very talented.

Dicy's stories are delightful, fun, and entertaining. My third grade students LOVED them! : I would highly recommend this book to any teachers who are looking for ways to share how authors use their own lives as inspiration for their stories. John Allen is named after Dicy's dad, and this was a great example to share with my students. They now see character development in a new light.

Dicy McCullough's series Tired of ... are perfect books to read to children! They love the rhyming pattern, vivid illustrations, and John Allen! These three books are wonderful additions to any home, classroom, or school library as children can relate to John Allen in each of the books. Dicy is a wonderful author and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her work!
