Too bad Blanchard doesn't bill her more than 150 recipes as "quick and easy" and include preparation times as well as nutritional analyses. Her 14 menus celebrating Christmas (but not Hanukkah nor Kwanzaa) are definitely in the no-time, no-fuss category. Most of the meals feature ordinary appetizers, entrees, and desserts we're rather accustomed to. A few of the more unusual dishes stem from specific menus' themes, including crumpets and eggnog-pineapple bread for a Victorian Christmas tea, zucchini and hominy soup as a starter for a southwestern Christmas fiesta, and baked lemon rice pudding for a holiday breakfast. Candid, refreshing and very well balanced, Blanchard's book is a blessing for those of us -vegetarians or not- who need to find new dishes that work.
Even though is targeted for the holidays, this is a great book to keep in hand at all times for new and imaginative ideas to serve creative and healthy treats or planning interesting menus for entertaining

Great book, I use the yule log recipe (easy and amazing flavor) every year at holiday time! I use several other recipes year round. I just wish she's do a follow-up book :) Come on Nanette!!!
