I love this watch, but make sure it's what you want
on November 11, 2013
I bought this watch a year ago. I love the look and feel and I really love that the glass does not scratch. But make sure an "automatic" watch is what you want. You will never get it to be more accurate than to about five seconds a day. Compare to a quartz watch which can be accurate to seconds a month. So if accuracy to the second is important to you, this watch is not for you. Furthermore, when I first got it it was running about 25 seconds fast each day. I had to do considerable research and buy tools and do two weeks worth of calibration to get it run only five seconds off per day. The alternative would have been to pay $150 to get it professionally calibrated. But you don't want to buy a new watch for $500 and then pay $150 to get it working at its best. Furthermore, the calibration issues were not discussed or even alluded to in the documentation or instructions. This was all very disappointing to me.
Secondly, the band looks great but is made kind of cheap. There are two loops to hold the strap in place, which started to wear almost immediately. One broke off completely in just a few months and the second one broke off a few months later. I haven't worn it since because I now need to replace the band.
Had I know all of these issues I probably wouldn't have bought this watch. Giving up on accuracy to the second was the hardest adjustment. But since I got over the hump, I do love the watch, it has the most elegant shape and look, and is perfect for me style-wise. I plan (hope) to wear this watch for the rest of my life.
