Product Description

A striking combination of silvery stainless steel and black, we think you'll become an instant fan of the Tissot Men's PRC 200 Black Dial Watch. This stylish timepiece begins with a 40mm stainless steel case with a fixed stainless steel bezel. A prominent stainless steel crown graces the right side of the case. These elements cradle a lovely black dial with Arabic hour markers at the 6, 9 and 12 'o clock positions. The dial, which is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, also features a date display window at the 3 'o clock position and hands powered by precise quartz movement. A black leather band with white stitching straps this watch to the wrist, while a trusted deployment clasp ensures that it stays there.

Stainless steel case with a black leather bracelet with contrast stitching. Fixed stainless steel bezel. Black dial with luminous hands and stick hour markers. Arabic numerals mark the 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions. Minute markers around the outer rim. Date display at the 3 o'clock position. Quartz movement. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal. Stainless steel case back. Case diameter: 40 mm. Case thickness: 10.5 mm. Deployment clasp. Water resistant at 200 meters (660 feet). Tissot T-Sport PRC200 Mens Watch T014.410.16.057.00.

Very readable and large dial, a great watch if you are a Tissot fan with discrete red highlights on the seconds and a T on the second hand, both pointing to the Swiss history and the brand. A very solid watch with a screw down crown, 200meter waterproof may appear a bit strange with a leather band, but I sail and have had humidity problems with other "waterproof" watches without immersion. This one is not going to have those problems! Lots of PRC200 reviews gripe abut the difficulty in getting it on and off with the mixed leather and clasp band, make sure you unsnap both clasps before removal, then it works great. This was one key factor for me, I love leather bands, but they wear too quickly buckling and unbuckling, this clever mecanism saves the wear on the leather (but if you don't unsnap both clasps it would be a nightmare to get on and off.

This watch is simple stylish and understated, but not plain.

As buying watches online and reviewing them is not my main deal, so I will focus only on a few details I think may be relevant. I will not be comprehensive, as I believe your choice will mostly be aesthetically and brand based, with a nod to price as well, none of which I will bother to advise on.

The band for this watch has been a focal point in the 2 other reviews that exist at this point. As there are no instructions for how to open the clasp in the many booklets that come in the box (it really is a box of considerable homage to Tissot, even including a novella on the history of the watch) , I suggest before buying this watch, go into a good high-end watch dealer where you will be dotes over and try it on first. I enjoyed sitting in sumptuous surrounds being attended to in a very high end watch store on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich Switzerland, trying the watch on to be sure I loved it.

They showed me how to open the clasp, which is solid, works faster and is much better than a buckle which kinks and frays the leather anyway.

It is a simple mechanism. With the watch facing away from you, clasp the edge of the band between thumb and forefinger and pull up. There are two hinges.

I have showered with the leather band, and it soaks up the water but dries happily without any crisping up or other issues. I just wore it a notch looser for a few hours...

Size of face: I have large hands and thin celtic wrists. This watch is fine. It certainly is not in the "oversized range" . This watch face has girth / radius of 40mm, as oppose to the enormous 52mm IWC inspired watches out there.

Importing to Switzerland. A good idea. Buying from this provider means the country of manufacture is clearly labelled and the package is exempt from import duty, tax and general post office hassles. This meant a saving of about CHF100 off the retail of 365 Swiss francs.

i bought this as an xmas present for my boyfriend. he was happy and impressed - said Tissot is the best entry-level watch you can get. the band's latch is not as strange as i feared, and wasn't a problem (once you figure out how to force it open). I couldn't figure out how to set it, but he has the magical guy knowledge and can do it fine.
The watch was larger than I wanted, kindof clunky thick and a few mm bigger than what would have looked best on my 5'7" guy. But I am still very pleased with the purchase.

I've had it about 2 months. It is (contrary to another reviewer) a genuine Tissot. The quality is exceptional. The watch looks like the day I bought it. It has resisted scratching very well. I love the clasp. It's a shame that not very many affordable watches come with a clasp instead of the old fashioned buckle. I have a Breitling with a similar clasp, and the price of that clasp was twice as much as this Tissot watch. What a value the Tissot is.

Really like the watch and have no real complaints about it, or the transaction with Amazon. The reasons for not giving it 5 stars are that the watch was running,(which seems to be a common complaint in reviews of any brand watch on Amazon) and it was rolling around loose in that gigantic Tissot box when I received it. Otherwise, just about as happy as I get.

...and it passed them all.

I did that because in some of Amazon's reviews (not necessarily this watch), some users were skeptical about the authenticity of the watches (some actually were confirming that Amazon is selling fake watches). So, I ended up buying the watch anyway with the intention of doing rigorous research to see if it's authentic or not, and was going to return it if it failed the test.

I ended up keeping it because everything I read and watched online about how to validate a watch said this is the real thing.

I love the style of the face - simple but elegant.

At first glance, it is a pretty standard watch - leather strap and medium sized face.
After wearing it for a month, i am loving the style and fit more and more. The face could be a bit larger, but it fits really well on my arm.

The snap-band is awkward to get used to, but I actually really like it since it won't wear the band the way normal buckles will. After a couple days, you forget that the band snaps on instead of buckles the normal way. It just fits really well. And if it doesn't the adjustment is very easy to do, and very intuitive to do. Not the hassle of taking it to a store to remove links.

The only criticism I have, and its a fairly small one at that, is that the band is made for small wrists. I have a very thin frame, and wear the watch on the second to last notch, which means someone with a larger wrist would have to replace the band.
