Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers).
The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.
Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. We bought this watch for our future son in law who is an enthusiast Tissot watch fan. He picked it himself from a variety of choices. It is sporty yet elegant enough to wear at work. I also took it to a fancy watch store to check its authenticity and the professional watch technician confirmed it was an excellent watch. Asides from this important feature I can say it looks brilliant, comes in a very upper scale package (matching the quality of the watch), and most importantly - a few days wearing the watch my son in law came up to us and expressed how happy this watch makes him every time he notices it!

looks nice in the picture, was kind of disappointed when i had it on my hands, the case is very shiny not the way it looks on the picture, and the case is kind of thick for the wrist size. but looks nice anyway.
nice watch from a quality manufacturer with nice set of features automatic, chronograph, nice wrist lock for the price. have to say it has some fans over my friends. the only minor detail, is that will stop not overnight but shortly if you stop wearing it.

The watch looked good in picture and I ordered one. It had a nice-sized face but its 15 mm-thick case looked ridiculous with a 17 mm-wide leather band. It reminded me of a pencil-necked guy with a over-sized head. I plan to return it.
