Product Description

Stylish and distinctly Tissot, the Tissot Men's Velcro-T Watch boasts good-looking, performance-rich features, like a stainless steel case and bracelet and a fixed black ion-plated bezel with tachymeter information in red font. This watch's textured white dial sports subdials at the two, six, and ten o'clock positions. The dial also features a date window at the four o'clock position and silver-toned baton hour markers and hands. Other high-end features include precise Swiss quartz movement, a band that closes with a deployment clasp, and water resistance to 330 feet (100 meters).

For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot's engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years.

Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers).

The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.

Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch producer and distributor.

Negatives: - Cant read the hands to save your life.

Unless you want a large timepiece with a very large watch face and long bracelet you might want to look at some of the other Tissot models instead of this one.

If you are looking for a flashy watch this is not for you, but if you want solid quality it's a definite fit.

OK...so I love Tissot watches....but I am skeptical about this one.
    First the positives:
    - Looks sharp
    - Although large, its fairly flat and fits nice on my wrist
    - band is clean and solid.

    Negatives:
    - Cant read the hands to save your life.
    - Glow marks in dark are worthless
    - Mine has lost time since day one.....have not had it into service yet.
    - Date will not advance - again...have not had it serviced to see why this is happening.

Basically...I have had 3 Tissot watches...and the other two still work...the oldest is 20 years old...so I assume that I got a lemon or something is bad with the battery or mechanism. There are a ton of other Tissot watches that are much better in my opinion than this one...especially for 500 bucks.

Beautiful watch and good value for money - BUT - What was Tissot thinking. The too skinny silver hands reflect white or almost black. The face has both white and black areas - less than 50/50 chance you'll be able to read the time. To make matters worse they painted the hand tips white and the outer face is white - you can never see the tips. They missed an opportunity - should have painted the tips red to match the nice red highlights in the bezel. If you're over 40 and don't have perfect vision - don't buy this watch. Sent mine back.

This watch is absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for a flashy watch this is not for you, but if you want solid quality it's a definite fit. The band seems a little cheap, but otherwise it's awesome. Also, if you will need to use it in the dark the luminous markers are bright, but very small making it hard to use. For me, it's perfect!

I purchased this watch a few days ago. It is a very nice time piece. BUT, it is BIG. I had no idea the watch face was going to be so large. My wrist is not as large as some are and it totally flopped around on my wrist and looked awkward even with the slack taken out of the bracelet. As far as the quality of the watch goes I gave it 5 stars. Very nice bracelet, easily readable face, nice heft and feel. It has substance. Unless you want a large timepiece with a very large watch face and long bracelet you might want to look at some of the other Tissot models instead of this one. I have opted for the Tissot Men's T17.1.486.34 PRS200 Chronograph with white face and blue dials. Hopefully this will suit my taste. Large watches seem to be a very in vogue these days. I'm not a follower of fashion trends, probably never will either. Too old school, or so my better half says.
