Product Description

Delightfully simple and sophisticated, the Tissot Men's T-Sport PRC200 Watch should have a home on every man's wrist. Its understated presence kicks off with a circular 40mm stainless steel case and a fixed stainless steel bezel. The right side of the watch features a stainless steel screw-down crown and two pushers. The silver dial, which is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, offers luminous silver-toned stick hour markers and hands, which are powered by battery-operated quartz movement. Arabic numerals at the 3, 9 and 12 o'clock positions, a date display at the 4 'o clock position and three chronograph sub-dials with 60-second, 30-minute and 1/10th-of-a-second displays also grace the dial. A brown coco-embossed leather band straps the watch to your wrist, while a luxurious deployment clasp makes sure it stays there. Finally, the watch offers water resistance up to 660 feet (200 meters) and a tachymeter around the outer rim of the dial.

For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot's engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years.

Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers).

The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.

Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch producer and distributor.

This watch looks better in person than in any picture.

The clasp of the watch was a little bit confusing at first, but once I got the hang of the movement to open/close, i like it much better than normal watch bands.

I read many reviews before purchasing this watch, not just on this particular product but many watches in this price point. My reviews were not only limited to Amazon but many sources including knowledgeable watch connoisseurs that I know personally. My money, like many of you I'm sure, is not something I like to spend on cheap products. I made myself very aware of what was out there. I am fairly new to collecting in the watch world and still have a lot to learn, however I feel that many that purchased this product have much more to learn as well after reading a lot of the comments. First lets address the leather issue I've seen discussed. People have said that it is cheap, plastic. This couldn't be further from the truth. The watch is actually a crocodile grain leather. If you are familiar with crocodile leather it is more glossy and stiff than patent leather and also more durable. It is one particular reason I bought this watch because I loved the crocodile band.

Secondly lets talk about the clasp. It is a deployment clasp, this is a good thing. A deployment clasp is used for both functionality and durability. It saves you from bending and cracking the leather like you would with a normal clasp and if you know how to use it effectively allows you to put on and take off the watch a lot faster. For anyone that is struggling with this clasp watch this video. [...].

This is a great watch. Everything about it is nice in quality, all the features of the chronograph work flawlessly. It has a classic design that will ever go out of style and can be worn casually or formally. Great value, great design, great watch.

This watch is quite nice. I had a citizen with chronograph, which was nice, but the chronograph feature on the PRC200 is much more accurate and user friendly. It is also much easier to reset. This is a great watch, no doubt about it.

I bought this watch for about $290 and was beyond excited when it arrived. I found a few problems that prompted me to return it, however. Please note that I'm kind of a dilettante when it comes to watches :/

    The good:

-The styling is great. As some other reviewers have pointed out, the way the styling blends casual and semi-formal looks gives the watch a very dignified, yet relaxed, look.
-Tissot as a brand is pretty old and reasonably respected, though its branding is more associated with being a "value" rather than luxury watch.
-Pretty cool case with a tiny pillow inside.
    -Sapphire

    The bad:

-The case is thicker than indicated. 12mm instead of 10mm.
-The second hand (not the chronograph hand)gave me a pretty big headache and prompted me to return the watch. Between 14 and 30 seconds, the hand would stick and stutter, occasionally going backwards. I did some research and came to the conclusion that it's either a manufacturing defect or that battery is low. I won't know for sure because I didn't want to deal with taking it to a horologist/deal with warranty if it was a manufacturing defect. Either way, QC failed to catch it. Additionally, as some have pointed out, the second hand isn't quite aligned with the markings (a problem that is inherent with quartz watches of low-mid level quality).

Not sure if I'll buy again.

The above (or below depending on where they put this) guy is mistaken. Yes, the clasping leather band is a little weird, but i can't imagine that it is too small for his wrist, as i also have semi-small wrists and i have plenty of room in either direction from my comfort setting.
This watch is excellent... i got the black version which i think is cooler, but so far so good.

Good looking watch. I expected a better refined product from this brand, the seconds hand is not well aligned and does not land in the exact seconds markings of the dial, hence this one only earns 4 stars.

The watch is actually 12mm thick per Tissot's website, not 10mm as listed by Amazon. The watch clasp is somewhat bulky as well. For these reasons, the watch interfered with my shirt cuffs too much. Also, the case is very shiny/polished, not matte as it appeared to me on the Amazon and Tissot websites. Otherwise, the watch looks very nice. Packaging looked new.

I was apprehensive purchasing a watch online. Taking the plunge and purchasing this watch has been a great decision thus far.

This Tissot watch is excellent. A few things to emphasise:

    1. This watch is thick. Having just had my 38mm Seiko watch die, getting used to the (literal) 13mm thickness has been interesting. After 2 days, it feels quite natural; but make no mistake, this is a reasonably weighty watch. And by weighty I mean size, it's actually quite light; it reminds you that you are wearing it fairly constantly, which I am liking.

    2. The continuous seconds hand is one of the small (chronograph) dials. I, being the absolute stereotype of masculinity, did not read the instructions booklet and assumed the chronograph was stuffed for the first day or so. Amateur, I know. But it is an excellent function, especially if, like me, you will primarily be using the chronograph function to count sub-60 sec intervals.

    3. The watch does not come with a warranty card. This is the joy of receiving grey market goods. The watch is functioning well, and I am hoping that it will last well beyond the 24 months that Tissot offer for store-bought goods. I am located in Australia, which I'm sure would be a problem if I wanted to send it back to Amazon. I bought the watch knowing that this was the reality, so no regrets.

The actual watch: others cover it better than me. Great blend of sport and business; looks all classy and such. Accurate so far, haven't encountered the 3 min/week inaccuracy that some people claim. More like 5-10 sec/week.
