5.0 out of 5 stars Tissot T-Touch Titanium
This is a good-looking watch and even more functional one. I love the Thermo and Altimiter - I can play the whole day with them, checking the temperature in LA or how high I am above the sea level. Good toy for big boys. It looks great and is the only Titanium T-touch/multi-touch watch out there. My favorites are Hamiltons with the same functions, just because of looks,...

This is a good-looking watch and even more functional one. I love the Thermo and Altimiter - I can play the whole day with them, checking the temperature in LA or how high I am above the sea level. Good toy for big boys. It looks great and is the only Titanium T-touch/multi-touch watch out there. My favorites are Hamiltons with the same functions, just because of looks, but Tissot has a Swiss Name behind it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tissot T-Touch Titanum, March 29, 2005
Great watch. Looks good. Feels good on. Quality has been excellent, so far. I only have two complaints, one minor and one moderate. Minor: When you touch the face to change functions you get fingerprints all on the crystal. Moderate: It has no backlight--makes it tough to impossible to read in the dark.

4.0 out of 5 stars Under-rated watch, future collectible, September 11, 2005
I bought my Tissot T Touch nearly three years ago -- basically, when the watches first hit the market.

This watch is a great piece of engineering, despite the fact that most of its underlying guts are no more glamorous than a $50 Swatch (who, ironically, owns Tissot). For all its quirks, I love this watch. It's comfortable and properly styled, looking sharper than watches costing 10x its cost. This thing is a daily driver that needs little or no care or maintenance. I'd gladly pay $700 again for this watch, and should anything happen to my beloved Tissot, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Can't say that about most quartz watches.

The touch-screen crystal is really cool -- no doubt about it. The features it surfaces (referred to as complications to horologists) are novel but limited.

The alarm and compass work as desired, and they're really the only two "complications" that matter beyond telling time. Everything else is just a gimmick: the thermometer gives the temperature of your wrist instead of the ambient air. The barometer can tell you if there are clouds above your head (turns out that it's faster to simply look up). The altimeter needs constant calibration, but otherwise works as advertised.

Normally, I'd say it's nuts to recommend spending more than $50 for a watch with quartz movement. But in this case, if you can swallow the nerdstyle premium without a care, this is a GREAT watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best watch I ever owned, July 21, 2006

This review is from: Tissot Men's T33758861 T-Touch Titanium Watch (Watch)
My wife bought me one of these 1 1/2 years ago for Christmas. I thought she paid too much but in this time I have grown to love this watch. I have a very acid sweat yet this watch has never shown ANY corrosion or decay. I have used it in the mountains for direction, alitude, and temperature. I have used all functions but most of all for a beautiful watch. Everyone comments on its looks and then I show them its tricks. It is a watch for life.

4.0 out of 5 stars warranty, December 30, 2005
5 stars for the watch, less one for lack of warranty. Be aware that most manufacturers' warranties are valid only if the item is purchased through an authorized seller. Not all (if any) Amazon sellers are authorized sellers. Do not expect Tissot to honor the 3 year warranty that another reviewer mentioned unless you purchase from an authorized seller. For more info, see the Tissot website www.tissot.ch

Hi,

The fist time, 6 months ago, I took it as it was under guarantee and they replaced it. Now, six months latter, with a new one... same thing. I thought it was my fault because I travel a lot and I did put the watch through the x-rays, but with the second one, I never put it... so they have faulty compass....

5.0 out of 5 stars My most worn timepiece, September 18, 2006

I have some rather exotic watches, but this watch is the one I have worn most over the last 2 years. I don't take particular care in protecting it, but it polishes up beautifully. The sapphire crystal is scratch free with only minor brush like scratches on the clasp.
I bought it because of its promised durability and have not been the least bit disappointed. A great long term daily wear watch.

Update Sept 2010

Finally had to replace the battery last year. 5+ is not bad. Problem was that a local jeweler replaced the battery and must have broken the contact off ad it ran only 2 weeks and stopped altogether. Had to send back to factory for refurb and cleaniing, which cost 330.00!!! Yikes!

But it is now back on my arm daily.

1.0 out of 5 stars 1 year, 4 movements, January 5, 2007

This would be a beautiful and elegant piece of technology - if it worked. I bought mine just under a year ago, but I've not worn it for more than 10 days at a stretch before the compass stopped working - the hand locked between 20 and 10 to the hour. First time this happened, I continued wearing the watch, and watched as over a period of a couple of weeks all other functions failed, one by one, till finally only non-adjustable timekeeping remained. The second and third time, I just returned it to the Swatch dealer (here in Hong Kong), where each time I've been impassively told the movement would be replaced. First time I got the watch back within 3 weeks, second time they had to send to Switzerland for a replacement, so it took 2 months. The third time, in response to my protests about my watch's extreme unreliability, they stamped my repair form 'urgent', and it will be ready in just 2 weeks.

But I'm pretty confident I'll be back there again soon. I've not mistreated the watch in any way: the worst it's had to endure have been showers and roadbike rides. The only conclusion that can be drawn from 4 identical failures in one year is that this is a seriously flawed product. Even if the next movement seems to work, I'd never risk taking it on holiday without another watch as backup - which is normal for cameras, say, but ridiculous for watches!

5.0 out of 5 stars 3rd Tissot, August 7, 2006
By
This is the first men's watch purchased. Two womens watches bought earlier have performed flawlessly and accurately, even in EMS work, for 3 years. The T-Touch Men's Tissot caught my eye on a cruise, techno eye candy. The stainless is heavy versus a rubber band but after a while not noticeable. Accuracy and readability (day/night) have been good. Functions work smoothly, read the instruction booklet to get best performance. Appearance catches eye of others but is reserved, not gaudy. Dial readable not cluttered. Value for price seems very good.

1.0 out of 5 stars not water resistant, November 13, 2005
By
I've been fooled by Tissot, and will never give them money again. My watch came with the following restrictions: 1) do not scuba dive 2) do not press the buttons underwater. It came with an adhesive in the backside with this info as well as in the user's manual.
I did not scuba dive, I did not press the buttons underwater, but water entered my watch! Was a defect of my copy? NO! It's just that there is one more thing they OMITTED! I couldn't have diven my watch AT ALL. I dived it 1 meter unterwater, and now it's damaged. (although it's written "water resist 30m" on the watch). What the seller said to me? He said "when it's written 'water resist 30m', you can hardly wash your hand with the watch, but never go underwater!". This seems to me like a Monty Python thing... "When it's written A, you must undestand B! Apart from that it's all normal" The problem was that in this case, the idiot was me!
I ask the smart guys from Tissot: "Why the h...they put a sign not to press the buttons underwater, when I can't go underwater AT ALL?". I also wrote an email to Tissot. No response, obviously.
