1.0 out of 5 stars Tissot Touch broke after 2 1/2 years
Great watch but for a list price of $900 you would expect it to last for more then 2 1/2 years. The whole multi function including display just stopped working one day. And I have been treating it like a precious baby, no diving, no swimming, not even bringing it to the beach. Believing it was only a battery replacement I sent it off to Tissot, but NO. Tissot have quoted me a cost of repair (replacement of: multi function/movement exchange) for $400!!!! 6 months after warranty expiry.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best watch I ever bought, October 30, 2006
Firstly, I am not a watch connoiseur. Far from it, I have been known to wear cheap, durable watches from Casio or even Timex if need served it. Neither makes bad watches. However, with the new T-Touch Tissot has certainly outdone itself. It is every man's secret wish toy, and it's stylish to boot.

So why should anyone consider plunking down money on this extravagant piece? Where do I begin?:

Firstly, it has an extremely ergonomic design, with nice clean lines and a finely polished Titanium exterior.
It is sturdy to the point of fault, resisting more wear and tear than you'd think possible. It was, after all, designed with the idea of outdoor use in mind.
But the most impressive feature of this watch is, of course, the touch screen that allows a myriad of functions with the simple pulse and touch of your finger. You can navigate through an alarm function, a compass, barometer and even altimeter with the greatest of ease and functionality.

In short, the design of this watch straddles extreme functionality and beautiful design with the greatest of ease, making this watch covetible and useful by both people who wish to make a bold statement about their style as well as people who want a watch that is functional with additional bells and whistles but won't die at the slightest tap. This is the perfect watch for any man.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent product, fast delivery, March 29, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought the Tissot T-Touch from Amazon merchant Kenmar Watches. The watch arrived in Ireland from the US in 3 days which was very impressive. Tissot's presentation box is very nice and the watch also came with an additional 150th anniversary book on the history of Tissot. Well appreciated by a hard core watch collector like myself. I must confess that I currently have a Zenith Rainbow, an Omega SeaMaster, a Seiko Kinetic, a Citizen AquaLand and Mares Nemo in a collection which is tipped heavily in favour of dive watches. The chunky titanium styling of the T-Touch is in keeping with the rest of my horological wardrobe and is much appreciated. As is the light weight of my Titanium version. The overall finishing is excellent with a sapphire crystal of genuine quality , a comfortable and elegant bracelet and the polished titanium case. As quartz goes this is extremely accurate and is currently only 2 seconds slow since I got it a month ago. The carbon fibre dial is well finished and is a nice touch. The lumed markers are thin but clearly visible at night.

The advanced features such as compass, barometer, thermometer and altimeter are all accurate within reasonable tolerances. However, the thermometer is affected by body temperature (as expected) and the altimeter calculates based on atmospheric pressure so it must be calibrated prior to use from a known altitude. With correct calibration it works fine. I'm not sure I'll use the features all that much but they are functional and this watch is not a toy. The only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is the annoying lack of electroluminescent lighting for the LCD display which render the features useless at night. Water resistance of only 30 metres is less than ideal but hey, it's not like I lack a watch I can wear while snorkeling. If you need a backlight get the solid titanium protrek from Japan. Otherwise get the Tissot, it's very stylish.

1.0 out of 5 stars beware, December 23, 2008
This review is from: Tissot Men's T33788892 T-Touch Polished Titanium Watch (Watch)
Please consider the following before purchasing. I purchased this watch from Watchgrabber on Amazon, and after 4 months the watch began having significant problems. For example, the digital display stopped working, the hands no longer responded to the touch function, and after a few days stopped altogether. Now perhaps I should have realized, but there is NO Warranty if you purchase this online (usually). Therefore, there is a definite possibility that you'll have an issue with your watch and not have it covered. I have been quoted at 210.00$ for repair...Awesome. Hopefully, my watch was just a lemon and the product is normally high quality. Nevertheless, I recommend getting some sort of warranty on this, before buying. Good luck.

1.0 out of 5 stars For fashion only, do not use in real world, September 9, 2009

This review is from: Tissot Men's T33788892 T-Touch Polished Titanium Watch (Watch)
The T-Touch is nice looking and fun to play with, but as several other reviewers have found, even light wear and tear will break it in just a year or two. It is not at all waterproof or even water resistant, for example. A Tissot service representative told me that even normal hand washing can subject the watch to too much water pressure and that many watches are returned with water damage. The touch screen on my watch failed for unknown reasons (not water damage) and the price to fix it was about 50% of the price of a new watch! Once the touch screen breaks you cannot set the time, so the watch becomes useless.

The altimeter and compass functions (when working) are interesting. The temperature (of your arm) is not too useful, nor is the barometric pressure even though it reports pressure trends. The digital display and hands must show the same time unfortunately. (There is a work around for this problem, but it leaves the hands pointing in strange directions during other functions.) It's hard to read the time via analog hands in the dark and impossible to see the digital display in the dark.

Overall the main issue is the extremely poor reliability. One would think that watches at this price level would work for a long time, but the T-Touch doesn't. Bottom line: With so many watches to choose from, you can surely find one cheaper or better (or both) than the unreliable T-Touch.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you want a good watch for 2 years...., October 14, 2009

This review is from: Tissot Men's T33788892 T-Touch Polished Titanium Watch (Watch)
I bought this watch 2.5 years ago on Amazon for around $500. Watch looks great and worked very well for the first 2.5 years. Died last month. Took it in for a battery change. First surprise - not a simple $10-20 job. Estimates to change battery ranged from $40-$150!!. Some watch places refused to do it. Luckily, I took it to a reputable place who refused to charge me anything when they discovered that the watch would not run on a new battery.

I happened to be in a city with a Tissot service center (found out watch is made by Swatch). They told me that water got inside and that it would need both a movement and crystal replacement at a cost of $350. I thought the watch was waterproof to 100ft so I had swum and taken showers with it. They said it was only water resistant to 100ft. Apparently this means that you might be able to wash your hands with it on. I might note that this is not pointed out in any of the literature you get with the watch.

So, if you can afford a new watch every couple of years and don`t mind taking the watch off when you get near water, this watch is for you. Otherwise, look for either watches marked water resistant to 300ft (100 metres) or waterproof.

2.0 out of 5 stars Think twice befeore purchase a Tissot T- touch, April 8, 2009

Believe me, I purchased 2, that is it, two T-Touch. The first one worked fine for 3 months after that, it started with problems with the hands and sundly it stopped working. I sent it to Tissot shop for repairing. 2 months later, same problem. Again let's go to Tissot shop to have it repaired. After 2 monthsIt's not necessary to tell what happened.
Well, new Tissot T-Touch was purchased. After 3 months, compass and Chrono are not working. I think it will be wasting of time and patience to send it to the Repair shop to fix it. The best I can do is to by a Citizen watch. Tissot owe me more than 10 stars. If you have Tissot Co'shares, I recomend you to buy Tissot T Touch. Otherwise, keep distance from that watch.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from magnetic devised and don't use traveling!!!, August 26, 2009
By
This review is from: Tissot Men's T33788892 T-Touch Polished Titanium Watch (Watch)
I brought my T-Touch 3 years ago. The exact same one in the picture. Just a WARNING!! The Compass, barometer and altitude functions rely on a magnetic instrument that can easily become demagnetised. I had to send my watch in 3 times and didn't realize this until I got a note back from repair asking me to keep it away from magnetic devises like airport security.

So - if you like your T-Touch then I suggest not taking it traveling!!

Otherwise if you need a watch with those functions you may try Casio Pathfinder or others. My Casios with the same functions have worked flawlessly for many years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tissot T-Touch, January 28, 2008
This is a great piece to own. Anyone looking for a casual dress watch for daily use you should not look any further. This watch is everything that I expected. The titanium band is solid and able to be sized. The quartz on the face is clear and protective, it's listed as a sapphire quartz. The face on the watch is easily readable, as is the analog hands and digital output. I would reccommend this watch to anyone looking for a real quality product with a maker years in the field. Tissot has been making watches for over 150 years and this watch is surely worth every penny. The touch screen works perfect and is quite sensitive to the touch. I have no complains and I do wear the watch daily for over a month now.
