Tissot Women's T65718861 Titanium Chronograph Watch

I rated this with five stars because after looking for years, this is as perfect as I am going to find. As a tall, professional woman, I really didn't want dainty, girly watch and was considering starting to look at men's watches. This one has a large enough face without looking masculine and still looking quite professional with a suit. I gave my expensive Baume & Mercier watch away in favor of wearing this Tissot watch.

Pros:
- Sapphire crystal: don't accept anything else; "mineral" crystals scratch way too easily
- Titanium case and band: makes the watch very light in spite of size and very durable
- Analog and digital display: provides the best of both worlds. The digital display is very subtle, sort of gold colored numbers. The two windows for the digital display are particulary subtle on this dark faced version of the watch (I don't think I would like it as much on the lighter faced models). I can display the day and date and I don't have to remember to reset it at the end of every month; best of all, I can actually *see* it. I can keep a second time zone, and I can have the current time zone in a 24 hour clock. I can also use it as a stopwatch, chronograph, alarm, but I don't really need those functions. Mostly, I always wanted to see the day and date, but it was always too hard to remember to reset every month and too hard to actually see on most watches. The second time zone and the auto-synchronizing current time in 12 or 24 hour clock were an unexpectedly useful bonus.
- Watch face is beautiful and has a very high-quality look to it

What would make it perfect:

- True luminescent dial and hands, like a Luminox watch
- Hidden clasp - The clasp it has is quite large and bulky looking

Cautions:
This watch is not for petite women. It is difficult to size this watch. I may be tall, but it doesn't mean I have huge wrists. I took it to one of those watch kiosks in the mall and after working and working, the woman was able to get one link out and was afraid to try for more. There are pins in the clasp to size the watch and I moved down those down two holes in the clasp and it still fits a bit looser than I would like. I suppose I need to take it to a real jeweler to see if they can get another link out. Even at that, I do not think it could ever be sized small enough for a very petite woman.

Wow, how beautifully crafted this watch is! It is super stylish and extremely practical. The Amazon picture does not do it any justice since it looks so much better in real life than any of the pix I found online.

Also, it is made of highly durable materials by Swiss watch makers. Being European originally, I am very familiar with Tissot and would recommend their products to anyone. My grandpa had a Tissot that worked like a charm for more than 30 years.

I love multifunctional watches and always regretted that so few multifunctional women's models are being made. I had my eye on this watch three years back but the price at that time made me pick a Suunto Lumi which was about $300 cheaper. Now that the Atlantic Ocean water has killed my Lumi, I had a good excuse to glance back at my favorite Tissot. I was very pleased to see that the price has gone significantly down. And here I am, finally with a Tissot T65 on my wrist.

Yes, there is no user's manual but with one button only the watch is very easy and intuitive to operate. You only have to set it up once anyway. It is a Tissot, after all.

To sum it up, this is an awesome watch and a great deal.

P.S. The user manual is hidden in the inner sides of the box. There arer tiny pieces of paper sticking out. Just pull them and the two sides will open up to reveal user manual, warranty service centers booklet and a watch collection booklet.

Very highly recommended.

First the analog and digital times were almost 30 minutes apart and nothing I could do would synch them up. The chronograpgh function would not work. The date would not show only the incorrect digital time. I tried to find a users manual, as the one in the box did not address the digital side all, but no luck on the Tissot web site.

It did look nice though. The clasp was a little loose so I am not sure how well it would stay closed.

Going back tomorrow...disappointed.

I thought about this watch for over a year, and finally decided to buy. Like the other reviewers said, it arrives without a manual but the Tissot Web site has a downloadable users guide, which explains how to use this multi-function watch. A few notes about the watch:

- I have a small wrist, yet with the removal of four links at a watch repair shop, the watch fits perfectly. I love the lightweight titanium band.
- The alarm function is easy to use (after reading the manual) and the alarm is not super loud but loud enough to be useful. (I can hear it!)
- The watch is very comfortable on my wrist.
- It keeps great time (so far!)

I like the sporty appearance of this watch, and I have had other great experiences with Tissot watches.

2/6/11 Updates: I contacted the jeweler contracted with Amazon for repairs on the status on 1/27/2011 since it had been 7 weeks since they received the watch. I was told that there were no parts available to have it repaired so they requested a buyout from Amazon a week before 1/27. (I wonder why they couldn't have done it earlier. Since there were no parts for it, why would it take a full 6 weeks before they found out about it?) I contacted Amazon on 1/31 and asked the status of my buyout (a check to pay me back). At first, the person couldn't find any information. Then he said that the check had not been processed because it was a weekend (I didn't know what this meant?). Had I not called on that day, it would probably be sitting there for a long time. I was told that a check would take up to 30 days for me to receive. I was and still am so disappointed because I really loved the watch. Neither the jeweler nor Amazon could tell me what the repair rate on that watch is. I don't know if I was the only unlucky one. Too bad. I thought Tissot was supposed to be a very good brand.


My new comments on 12/1/2010:
My watch stopped working on 11/29/2010 after having it for less than 6 months. I took it to the original jewelry shop where I got the links removed to have the battery replaced. The shop's watchsmith said the battery was good and it's the watch. I contacted the warranty service and I have to ship it (on my expense) to a jeweler in Kentucky, and it will take 4 to 6 weeks to have it repaired. I'm very disappointed that it only worked for such short period of time and it will take that long to have it repaired. I wonder if the repair work itself has any warranty. Too bad, I loved this watch!

I love this watch! I was looking for a watch that has multiple functions and is easy to read. I didn't want a big watch that has so many little round dials. I really didn't care what the brand was. It happened that I found this Tissot which is reliable and a good brand. Being a busy mom, I have so many activities planned for the kids based on each day of the week. The day/date function helps me stay on track; The timer/chronograph function helps me when I need to time my daughter when she does her multiplication questions as required by school; I bathe for and swim with the kids wearing the watch. It looks great and it has all of the functions I wanted. I think this watch is great for any size of women. I'm petite and I had some links taken out at a jewelry shop for $10. This is my very first large sized watch and is also my very first "fancy" watch so I didn't know how to use it since a manual didn't come with it. However, I called Tissot and the company shipped one to me right away. I also found out later that it is available to be downloaded on Tissot's service website (under "Multi-functional Watches.") The only thing that I was a little disappointed was that the band is actually a dark gray color instead of the silver color shown on Amazon's website. Someone said that the digital display was too dim to read for the silver face one, but this one is great. The digital display looks even brighter under the sun.

For almost ten years I wore a very similar Tissot watch (sapphire glass, titanium case and band, analog-digital with multiple functions, etc.), but it was a man's model. A few months ago I took a hard fall, landing on the watch's glass. At the time, the only thing that seemed damaged was the band, easily fixed -- and my arm, which bears a half-moon shaped scar to show for it. Unfortunately, when the time came to replace the battery, the watch's digital mechanism went (can happen when it comes into contact with air). I loved this watch, as I am a timepiece destroyer and this one withstood countless abuses until this final one; it was light, very thin, the dial was easy to read and so on.

I went on the web to look for a replacement (after I looked for spare parts and couldn't find them) but the model had been discontinued. I finally settled on this woman's model and, although I find it incredibly small in comparison to my previous watch, I am adapting well.

As its predecessor, it is not so intuitive to set its modes (digital / analog 2 times, date, etc.), but once you get the hang of it there's no problem. I've no difficulty reading the digital in sunlight; the analog is easier to read than the one with the white background. It is also very thin and light, making it comfortable and, at the same time, elegant.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this watch and hope it is as sturdy and solid as its older brother (for whom I am still looking for spare parts!).

After a long research online on Tissot watches i chose this one due to the multifunction features, the size, the look and the price. And I'm very happy with it however few words of caution for those who buy it online without seeing it first:
- it's titanium which is very clear in the description but I didn't really grasped it- it's so light it feels almost like plastic, can be off-putting if you expected and are used to steel and heavier watches. But let me assure you the look is not plastic!
- as it was mentioned by other reviewer the case and band are darker compared what you see on the picture, so the whole watch is grey with silver trimming.
- there's no manual but you can find it online and as suggested before search under Tissot Multifunctional Watches manual. Be prepared to spend some time reading to understand the instructions and various functions. Once you got it, it's a joy to play around with another gadget on your wrist :)

The watch arrived in great condition, packaged very well, and in a very timely manner. The wrong booklet was sent, but, no worries since the booklet is downloadable from the company. I recommend this company.
