5.0 out of 5 stars Very affordable fun to shoot family recurve bow.
I bought this for me and my wife to play around with and to create a more challenging shooting situation then that of shooting a compound bow with the fancy sighting system. It shoots well and seems to be constructed well enough for reliability and long term use with proper care of course. Very affordable fun to shoot family recurve bow. Works well for left handed or...

1.0 out of 5 stars It feels and sounds like it's going to break. The crack is not reassuring.
Check out the photos of the bow I bought through Amazon which I received today.
The last thing you want to hear when you draw back your bow string is: you know when you have a whole pack of spaghetti noodles and you sometimes break it in half to fit in the pot better? It's the sound of a bunch of little sticks breaking fast one after another. That's pretty close...

This review is from: Titan 60" 30# Fiberglass Bow  (Misc.)
I ordered this bow because of the decent reviews it got, but also because i have wanted to start archery. This is a very nice beginners bow and i was surprised by the price i thought i would be paying much more.

i got the Feather Fletched Easton XX75 Blues Arrows 6-pack
they are nice arrows and they work well with this bow

5.0 out of 5 stars great bow, November 11, 2008
This review is from: Titan 60" 30# Fiberglass Bow  (Misc.)
I ordered this bow just to use for target practice. I have a long bow 60# but the string hits the underside of your wrist everytime you shoot it, so you have to wear proper wrist protecter while shooting. This bow you can shoot without any wrist protection. Fun to shoot, simple, durable/great bow for the price. Will probably buy another for my son.

The last thing you want to hear when you draw back your bow string is: you know when you have a whole pack of spaghetti noodles and you sometimes break it in half to fit in the pot better? It's the sound of a bunch of little sticks breaking fast one after another. That's pretty close to how my bow sounded. I unstrung it, and found a crack. Then I restrung it to see if the crack looked any worse under tension. And a big chip flaked off the bow!
I can't believe it.
The other reviews all looked okay so I had high expectations but this bow was junk right out of the box. Highly disappointing.
I'm going to return the bow and then seek out a brick and mortar archery store. For less than $100 I wasn't expecting world-class equipment, but I should have received a simple, basic, usable bow.
Now I have to go through all the hassle of returning this thing.
Don't buy this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Bow for money but needs clearer instructions, December 25, 2009

It looks great, and is fantastic value for the price, but for anyone new toarchery this type of bow is couner-intuitive and needs to be bent in the opposite direction before stringing to get extra tension. My teenage boys were pretty fed up with the string keep coming off until an archery friend showed us.

So I'd rate the bow as 5 Stars, but then knock 1 star off for unclear instructions !

I bought this bow for the nostalgia factor. The first bow I ever shot was of similar design and construction. I'll grant you that most people don't look back at freshman gym class affectionately, but i did have fun with archery. I was concerned when I bought this that it wouldn't stand up to adult use or that it might be poorly made, given its price. I was relieved when I opened the box and strung the bow, realizing that it was indeed of good quality. My old aluminum arrows were quite a disappointment though. They were obviously meant only for compound bows, and they weren't really all that great in my compound. I have since ordered the cedar arrows that amazon recommends with this bow. Wooden arrows are, after all, what we used with our bows back in gym class. Despite my using the wrong arrows for the bow i still have to give it 5 stars, especially for the price, besides it wasn't the bows fault i used the wrong arrows and the bow still did fairly well even with those awful arrows.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK for the price, March 13, 2009
This review is from: Titan 60" 30# Fiberglass Bow  (Misc.)
I wanted to buy a good recurve bow that was affordable but also decent quality. I was getting frustrated because the only recurve bows I could find at stores were the pathetic youth set ones. Apparently adults only prefer compound bows. I bought the Titan because it was a practical size and most importantly, fairly priced. The only real complaint I have is that when I strung up the two bows i bought, the top loop didn't rest evenly along the top groove. I can't tell if it has been effecting my aim or not. All I can say is that when I shot a different recurve bow I was hitting the bulls eye consistently. It's still good for the price.

This is for me (whimpy girl) and it is perfect. I am challenged by it, more used to a 20 lb bow, but I will enjoy working up to the challenge. It is great that it is set up for either right or left hand use, as I can share the experience with others!

This is just what I wanted. A bow that was NOT a compound bow. A previous reviewer said that it was just like the bow he remembered practicing with in high school, and I would confirm that. I had one just like it when I was in high school that I bought from the Boy Scout store and spent many enjoyable hours shooting into hay bales in the back yard. Strangely, it seems you can't get bows like this any more at sporting goods stores or the Boy Scouts-- the only bows of similar draw weight seem to be compound bows. This one draws well and is fun for my fourteen year old, as well as me.
