Book Description

July 22, 1999
The Titanic Chronicles is based on the 1912 Senate Hearings into the Titanic Disaster. The actual testimony is read by an international cast which includes David McCallum as host, Eric Bareden as J. Bruce Ismay, John Cunningham as Captain Arthur Rostron; David Garrison as Senator William Alden Smith, Marilu Henner as Mrs. Stuart White, Bernard Hill as Captain Stanley Lord, Emmett James as Ernest Gil, Steve Kearney as Harold S. Bride, Cloris Leachman as Disy Minahan and Gloria Stuart as Mrs. Helen Bishop. This program is an enactment of the most striking and revealing moments from the actual hearings. The testimony you will hear comes closest to the truth as to why the R.M.S. Titanic now lies on the bottom of the North Atlantic.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

It was very important that all aspects of the program were authentic to the R.M.S. Titanic. For this reason all of the narrators were themselves alumni of Titanic productions for screen, television, and stage spanning over fifty years. The music arrangement chosen as accompaniment was the same music that was actually played by the string quartet on board the Titanic as the ship sank. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
