5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Paper Model of Titanic Anywhere!, April 24, 2008
This review is from: Titanic: The Complete Guide to Building the Titanic (Taschen Specials) (Paperback)
This Titanic Paper Model is by far the Largest, and most detailed I have ever seen. The Scale is 1:200 which is also 53". It is not for a beginner. Definitely Intermediate to Advance difficulty. I started building it in 1998, ended up getting destroyed. Just found it on Amazon, and just got it today. Can't wait to build it again. I recommend it to anyone that wants a challenge, but something that will take time, but a pleaseure when its finished.

5.0 out of 5 stars Patience is the key!, September 22, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Titanic: The Complete Guide to Building the Titanic (Taschen Specials) (Paperback)
Hi there!
Just got this Titanic paper model to build. To build is a quickly said. I'd say that after you cut it, you fold and glued it up, THAN you'll be able to build it! I had this set many years ago, started it but my then girlfriend kicked me out of the house (not because of the paper model!), so moving out was a quickly done thing and I kind of lost many parts to complete this model.
Now, I'm able to do it because my actual girlfriend actually knows how crazy I am and she likes that in me! Just kidding... I guess!
The only thing a bit negative about this model is that you have to work on the finishing touches a lot if you want to get a finish closer to the real thing than just a bunch of paper pieces glued together. I mean, for instance, that the windows are plain black and white, so you'll have to put a bit of colour to it if you want a better look...
Also, and that's where the patience comes in the big picture, the instructions are a bit vague with images printed a little bit too small for my young eyes! Read carefully the instructions if you do not want to end up with a boat that doesn't look at all like the Titanic!
If you do enjoy relaxing doing paper models, go ahead, do the Titanic. Just don't make it sink again anywhere because you'll be pissed at yourself!
