5.0 out of 5 stars A good account of the tragedy for strong readers (kids)., March 16, 1998
This review is from: The Titanic (Cornerstones of Freedom) (Paperback)
This book gave an accurate account of the tragedy in 1912. Young children who are beginners will have difficulty reading this story. I feel it is geared towards experienced readers in grades 2, 3, and 4 at least. It is a hot commodity in my school! The photos are excellent. I recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A good account of an "impossible" event, July 9, 2008
Hopefully, the story of the Titanic will forever be the most extreme example of all that can go wrong in the creation of a tragedy. Even though I have heard the story many times before, it still amazes me to read about all of the things that went wrong when the Titanic sank. There was even a ship, the "Californian" that was close enough to see the distress flares, yet took no action.
This book is a brief; yet complete description of the events of the night of April 14, 1912. It is an event that all children should learn about and then have it explained to them, specifically all of the circumstances that went wrong, in fact had to go wrong. If even one of them had gone positive instead of negative, it is quite likely that the loss of life would have been minimal to non-existent.
