5.0 out of 5 stars Titanic - fun, challenging and educational
Would recommend this game for not only the entertainment value, but educational as well. Actual pictures of the Titanic are also shown on the screen. The "husband" was totally annoying and I think I would have thrown him overboard (kidding)but we were so engrossed in the game we played it right through to the end. Highly recommend this one!

The game is cool but it is to easy to get through. I finished it in one day. My 8 year old was able to do it in no time. I wish it had more to it. Not worth the money should of been alot cheaper.

This game is near impossible to figure out. I am 21% done and completely stuck. Neither my engineer husband nor my techie teenager can figure it out, either. There are no hints available for what to do next, nor are there any cheats available anywhere on the web. Further, getting the Wii remote to 'crank up the box' took feats of amazing proportions. I would not recommend this game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't live up to expectations, July 4, 2010

There is a nice storyline to this game but to be completely honest, I was pretty disappointed to with this game.

The basic idea of this game is a young woman and her husband are aboard the titanic for the US. The woman's mother stows away on the ship and it's pretty much bland after that. You just run around the ship solving very mini mysteries to get through the game.

If you get stuck, there are hints available if you use the B button which brings up another menu at the top of the screen. You can even skip puzzles if you wish. I ended up skipping through the puzzles just to finish the game because I was bored and I just really wanted to complete it.

I was able to complete the game in about an hour. When the game was finished, I was disappointed. I expected it to be a lot longer than it was and I expected the game play to be more in depth. Buy it used and skip paying full price if you can! Also, if you think you're finding hidden objects in this game, don't bet on it. There are only a few puzzles where you seek out 10 of certain items and well, it takes you about a minute to find them all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I hoped..., July 3, 2010

I bought this version of the game for the Wii because I had seen the same game for PC. It is described as a hidden object game, but there was very little "hidden-object-ness" about it. There were many puzzles, but I bought it for the hidden object scenes, and there just were not enough of those to satisfy me. I am also disappointed in how short it was. It would be nice to play as different characters also. Oh well.....

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh, May 9, 2010

I am a Wii novice and really don't play video games too much. I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as I expected. I thought it would be more hidden objects, which I LOVE, but it is more puzzles. I don't consider myself to be terribly computer game savvy, but I was eventually able to figure out most of the puzzles. Twice I had to resort to the internet for "cheat" tips just to be able to move on. I would like to see more direction in the way of hints. I think this game would have been much better as a PC game vs Wii, as sitting across the room sometimes made it difficult to see objects. Also, the "sparkles" should be more obvious. Otherwise, it was so-so. I wouldn't pay $20 for another game like this, though.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Length Comments are Sooooo true!, March 18, 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars

This game could have been so much more!!! I just finished it and I agree with how everyone says it is so short. However, I highly recommend not bypassing the puzzles. Figuring out the objective on them was the best part of the game for me.

What would have made this game better:
-longer length
-better point/click controls (I would miss the sparkles sometimes)
-graphics (the only reason I had a problem with them is because I couldn't see objects I needed!)

On my final note, my Wii reports that I played this game for 6 hours total. If the wii counts the idle time (the night I started it I definitely had it sitting idle for an hour while talking on the phone) then this game was less than 5 hours long. Entirely too short.

Parents, this is not a kids game. They won't be able to grasp the logic of what to do.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Way to Spend an Afternoon, March 8, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Titanic (Video Game)
This game is a mix between a point and click puzzle game and a hidden object game. It took me about 2-3 hours to complete, and the puzzles and hidden objects weren't terribly difficult. The main problem with the game was the lack of overall direction - often I found myself clicking on the hint button just to try and figure out what to do next. One nice feature was the solve button for the puzzles - if you get stuck you can simply click it to solve the puzzle entirely. I would have liked to have seen a progressive hint feature for the puzzles.

The graphics weren't bad and I did like the overall storyline, including the dialog choices available.

If you pick it up used or rent it, it's a decent short game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too short, too hard, too silly, March 22, 2010
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Titanic (Video Game)
I loved Titanic: Adventure out of Time, and I had been hoping this would be at least somewhat similar. Sadly, it's not. One of the biggest draws of AooT was the exploration of the ship. In that game, you could roam through virtually every inch of the Titanic, rendered very realistically. There's nothing even remotely like that in this game. You only see a handful of static environments, which you can't move through at all. The story is silly, and entirely without suspense or interest. You're over halfway through the game before you get to anything of even vague interest, which would be, in this case, the ship sinking. Halfway, in this case, means an hour in. Yes, this game took only two hours to finish. Selling a game that short for this price is frankly offensive to me.

The difficulty in the game doesn't necessarily come from the puzzles. Most of them are rather easy. Instead, it can be very tricky to find items on the screen. They're indicated by a vague sparkle that appears only occassionally and can be difficult to see at times. And some of the puzzles are just plain nonsense. You're doing silly things for silly or nonexistent reasons. There are puzzles that you complete simply because the game wants you to, not for any reason within the game. It may eventually lead to something, but the only thing I could think of while solving, say, the bird nest puzzle was, "Why am I bothering with this?"

None of the characters are interesting or even sympathetic. I wouldn't have minded if the ending in this case had been, "Ship sinks, everyone dies." The voice acting is pretty bad, especially that annoying child, and there's no character animation to speak of. All in all, a pretty bad game at an inflated price.

I thought this would be similar to the "Titanic, Adventure out of time" PC game that I LOVE. . . it isn't. It was limited, just a bunch of stupid puzzles. You can't explore the ship, in fact you can't walk around at all, you can only go to certain areas and use the controller to click on things. It was all over in a couple of hours. The company who made this game should remake it to be more like the old PC game, which was awesome. Too expensive for what it is, it should be a $10 game at most.
