Product Description

After the catastrophic battle in which both Megatron and Optimus were mortally damaged, the fleeing Decepticon forces dumped the ruined bodies of their former comrades into space to lighten their load. In the void of deep space, the wreckage drifted until an ancient creature known as Unicron swallowed it up, melted it down, and used it to create a host of mechanical servants. Among this host was a squad of elite tracker-terminators, led by the deadly and silent Scourge.

Screaming down out of the night sky of Cybertron, Scourge and his troops fell upon Autobot and Decepticon alike, destroying all those who stood against them. They were the first in a long line of heralds and servants to the evil Unicron, and to this day many of the streets and buildings of Cybertron carry the scars left by their powerful disintegration cannons.

Detailed die-cast metal Scourge figure changes from combat robot to vehicle and back! Figure comes with display stand. Figure measures 6".

3.0 out of 5 stars rare character, could've been done better, September 9, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Titanium Series Transformers 6 Inch Metal Cybertron Heroes Scorge (Toy)
For those of us who remember the original '86 animated movie, we surley can appreciate the rareness of finding a true scourge figure. This guy delivers there, as this is probably the most acurate scourge figue ever, including the G1 original. After that though it's tough to find to much to like here, first for collectors, it took me about a half hour to get him out of the package, and even being that careful one of his arms snapped off anyway.(thankfully they snap back on) Once I did, i found out quickly that die-cast metal and thin plastic aren't a good combo. everytime I transform it, it feels like the plastic will break, no matter how careful. A few pluses though, it is highly posable and stands up very well due do the fact that half it's weight is in it's legs. Also as someone who has owned hundreds of transformers, this one may be the easiest transformation in history, three steps...legs-wings- fold up head.
So if you are a fan of the original movie, or a collector who dosen't mind throwing out the box, you may like this one. This should be avoided for kids though, despite the easy transformation, it is very flimsy.

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome homage, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Titanium Series Transformers 6 Inch Metal Cybertron Heroes Scorge (Toy)
For those unfamiliar, this toy is a tribute to a character and toy from the 1986 Transformers line with the same name. Scourge was one of the featured Decepticons in Season 3 of the Sunbow Cartoon series and made his debut in the first Transformers movie, also released in 1986. The 20th Anniversary version of the movie just came out so I'm guessing that's why they made another Scourge now.

To get an original Scourge these days, you're pretty much stuck trying your luck on ebay. One in near perfect shape will run you $50 or more on average and the bidding often gets hot and heavy. Hasbro did us all a favor by rolling out this Titanium version. I never actually owned the original but it looks very true to that in both robot and vehicle mode.

The transformation difficulty on this one is a breeze, which is a welcome change compared to some recent Hasbro releases. You can literally change him back and forth in less than 10 seconds.

About the only thing I would change on this one is to make his legs slightly longer. Still, it's hard to nitpick on this one. He transforms easily, at about $15 retail he won't break the bank too much, he has cool diecast parts, he stays true to the overall look of the classic and he displays well next to toys from just about every Transformers line, including the original G1, Cybertron and the new Classics line.

He's still a little hard to find on the shelves as I am writing this so if you get a chance, scoop him up!

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay for display, but a crummy toy, January 14, 2007
This review is from: Titanium Series Transformers 6 Inch Metal Cybertron Heroes Scorge (Toy)
I bought this for my son, a budding robot fanatic, thinking he'd enjoy a robot that turns into a spaceship (and also thinking that a metal toy might hold up better than plastic). Unfortunately this line of Transformers is constructed such that they fall to pieces very easily, making it virtually impossible for a kid to play with. The pieces do snap back together, but a toy that falls apart every time you touch it isn't much fun for a kid. We also bought another titanium series Transformer character as a gift and that one suffers from the same problem as well. Maybe an older Transformers fan might appreciate these for display. Note, however, that the figure in no way attaches to the provided display stand; it tends to topple off the stand at the slightest tremor and, of course, fall to pieces on landing.
