Does what it's supposed to do - to power the little TV when you don't have any other power source other then AA batteries. Also, the sound is enhanced.

So far this product works as advertised. It is unique in that you can use rechargeable or non-rechargeable AA batteries. This feature makes the Tivax HiRez7 a "must have" during power outage or other emergency situation. The docking station provides a sturdy platform for the TV and improves audio output. I have not tried with AA batteries yet, but would give 5-star rating if it works as advertised. I would most definitely recommend this TV and the shipper (5 stars).

The ability to use AA batteries is nice, and the extra speakers are ok as well. Calling this a docking station is a bit of a stretch, though. It is more a "setting the TV on the top of it and manually connecting the power and sound cords" station. A little disappointing at the $28 price, but at least it didn't cost more.

I bought this to have the options of running the TV on AA batteries during a power outage. It works great and I checked it out, by taking out the batteries in the TV and then running on just the batteries, great results.

Recently purchased the TiVax HiRez7 Portable TV, the optional Antenna, Docking Station (herein), and even the TiVax Carrying Case to protect the TV while using it away from home. This review is about the Docking Station only, I have other things to say regarding the TV itself for another Review. This Docking Station is a "must have" item. Primarily because it is the ONLY way you can Power Your TiVax TV from a source OTHER than the TV's internal Batteries, external AC120/12vdc adapter, or a Vehicle 12vdc adapter. This Docking Station holds (8) eight AA Batteries to provide that extra source of power if all your other means of power are either gone, or not available. This Docking Station unit also "charges" the large squared NiMh Batteries that come with the TiVax TV when plugged into an AC adapter, or 12vdc Vehicle outlet.

So, now you have (8) AA Batteries, the (2) NiMh TV Batteries, and an Audio Cable that goes from the TV to the Docking Station which incorporates two (2) small Speakers on the front face L/R sides for an additional Stereo effect. When the TV is placed in the Docking Station, and you are getting power from the (8) AA Bateries, or the charging Squared NiMH Batteries inside the Docking Station, power is sent to the TV via another small cable that comes out of the Docking Station, and into the TV itself. All in all it is very versatile. Only one drawback... it is made rather cheaply. The "tabs/flanges" that lock the covers/doors for both types of Battery compartments are "paper thin". They do not allow the covers/doors to fit very tight, and they are so cheap that I ultimately expect them to break at some point. BOTTOM LINE - this device has many positive features of utilization - however, the quality of the Plastic Materials used, and their fitting is so poor that even the Chinese must be embarassed. Also hope that the (2) LiIon Batteries that come with, and power, the TiVax TV can hold their CHARGE. These Batteries are made of POOR quality even though they physically appear substantial.

It holds the TV and stops it from falling over. So-called enhanced sound is pretty much a joke. When you connect the wires from the dock to the TV it looks quite an unsightly mess since all the wires are exposed. It's going for about half the price now that I paid for it, so it is a little easier to take. Basically, it does what it claims, it's just that very little effort has gone into making it as nice as it could have been.

I really purchased this for hurricane season in Miami. When you have no power the docking station allows you to use batteries to power the 7 inch LCD TV that goes with it . It works fine and does what we need it to do if we should be without power. It gives you two hours of play time on 8 AA batteries.

I wanted to get a battery powered TV -- had one before the world went digital, and missed it last time the power was off. I get good digital reception through antennas at home (no cable), but was only able to pick up a few stations with the Tivax, even with it plugged to the wall rather than on battery power. I'm still working with it, using a different antenna than the one supplied (which will NOT stand up) to see if that is the problem, but all the cables are too short to comfortably work with it.
It is better than nothing, but not as good as my old analog hand-held battery TV.

The Tivax HiRez7 Docking Station is a great choice for consumers who need long-lasting AA battery power for their Tivax HiRez7 DTV. This was "the answer" for powering my 7" DTV during long-term power outages! Using the car charger is the only other option. The supplied Lion batteries in the Tivax DTV deplete after about 2 hours of usage, but with this useful docking station, the user can keep on watching DTV, using replaceable AA batteries!

The docking station also works well as a support stand, and also has the option of enhancing the DTV sound. Since the docking station takes 8 AA replaceable batteries, be sure to keep a lot of batteries on-hand! But, at least you will have a nice 7" TV to watch, during long-term power outages.

Hey, it worked for me, hope it does for you too! Most of the other portable 7" DTVs on the market do not have this option to use AA batteries, so this purchase was definitely worth it!
